Seasoncard Renewals | Slight Price Increase

Small increases every year for the next ten years will see our season tickets rise by another £200. They can get away with £20 rises without to much backlash, but their end game is for our season ticket prices a lot more expensive than they currently are.
They need to be careful. We are miles away from filling the seats with tourists for the shittier games , its ok v real madrid.
And most people with have a break point with what they are prepared to pay

The way you are talking, its as though the season tickets pay the wages of the players. No where near! Its a fraction compared to tv and sponsorship income.
so why bother sticking them up if only by £30? For an extra million pound? A literal drop in the ocean
Because like any business there will someone with a title trying to earn a bonus for increasing matchday revenue. They will be judged on that and will come up with all these ideas. The boot fans out for the 5 biggest games is a master stroke because I know they were selling tickets in SS3 with basic offsite hospitality for £500 a ticket for Madrid and I’m sure some people would have paid £500 for the Liverpool and Rag games.

If they can sell 1000 tickets to tourists at an average of say £300 for those games, then that makes them £1.5m. The loss in ST revenue on those 1000 tickets is around £300,000. £1.2m extra. If they do it for 2000 fans it’s £2.4m etc etc….

Those silver tickets have not been introduced for fans benefit that’s for sure.

Mine has gone up £10, the small amount isn't the issue for me, It's just the thought that my club are trying to squeeze every penny they can from the most loyal group of fans they have. I will renew, but I do feel the club don't really give a shit about supporters like me. This will be my 45th consecutive ticket, I don't get into the ground until 30 mins before kick off and I spend little in the club shop. My 2 lads also have season tickets, I think my love of being with them, rather than my love City is the reason I will renew.
“I will renew.” In a nutshell, that’s it. The club know most fans will do the same. It’s a unique dynamic. They know it. We know it.

Course it is you're dead right, i'm not a fuckin idiot despite what many may think, just a realist.

But just look at the turnover and Income for City and then the profit made, what was it about 2m or something!
Football finance is fucking crackers.

When the cunts at UEFA dish out fines like fuckin raffle tickets when a kid runs on the pitch then you realise its all about money.

Cunts involved in the game are making a mint out of footy and its the likes of us that stump up.

Mines gone up £20, not arsed. I can't really afford last years prices but it's what I do and I love it.

If the PL had anything about them then they would set prices across the League.
You want to be part of the PL then this is what you charge to watch "the product"

Like you say tv and sponsorship is the main income not ticket prices, but the money goes out a lot quicker than it comes in for Clubs.

spot on - "Silver" lining for city.

Almost a kick in the face that they are pointing out, that if we can have those 6 tickets back - we can double or triple our revenue by selling them to tourists or travel agents...rather than the die hard city fan buzzing to face united or liverpool. It will lead to more fights in the stands...there was incidents at liverpool and Madrid as these tickets always end up with away fans and never other Cityzens!

im just generally disappointed, when you compare $1m of increase overall for fans and compare that to players yearly wages and income from sponsors, TV. Haaland will literally be on 500k a week. Ticket sales make up what 5% of our yearly revenue or less?? Season tickets prob 2% of that after corporate...

In this climate of cost of living and covid - increases in food and fuel and City just cant absorb £25 from me for 1 more year....

Word need to get back to the board. I know we will be back here in 12 months time to.

I know it's difficult to understand or indeed stomach but everyone gets shafted by corporate in any business model, we are no exception we really are not.

Give it 20 years and if we are at the same levels of achievement the only thing that's Manchester about us will be our name, that's if that isn't sold off or renamed.

I thought that was the whole idea behind the Silver tickets?

We are seriously considering going Silver for next season. The big matches will all be on TV anyway. They are also the ones moved to ridiculous kick off times.

Reading some of the comments here I get a distinct impression that many of the faux outrage postings were prepared before the announcement was made. Many might have been made even with a price freeze or even a reduction?

I hate to think what would be said about the season ticket prices for Arsenal or Spurs or Chelsea.

Yeah when u say it like that it is mental

That Silver ticket has definitely been dreamt up by an accountant! By all means tip up for the bread and butter games, but we can sell that seat at a massive premium for some, let's say, more attractive looking fixtures. The marketing bods then get involved and twist it to make you believe that they are doing you a favour and are getting great deal if you take it up!
