That’s all well and good but it’s such a short-termist approach in my opinion. Selling tickets for these type of fixtures at these prices is reliant on the team playing well and being successful. They should be looking at sustainably building the match going fanbase so that they will always be there in years to come, this isn’t the way to do it.

Also for whatever reason this fixture isn’t Cat C as it should be, they’ve upped it to Cat B, work that one out if you can.

I'm very firmly in the cheaper tickets movement, especially for these sorts of games, do this isn't my position. But I can see if from the view of the club who would argue that selling tickets on the cheap to sell the ground out is the short term perspective and the long term one needs to raise match day revenue to the levels of United, Liverpool and the London clubs. Don't think they're getting everything right, but that is there one and only logic and they're absolutely not building a fan base working on the assumption that one day we might be shit again.

There’s got to be a better balance struck though, I’m not suggesting they should work on the assumption that we’ll be shit in the future, assuming the trial goes the right way I don’t think we ever will be shit again. How are you building for the future however, if you’re charging upwards of £30 for kids to watch us play Burnley on a Wednesday night in January? It’s madness, especially when it’s so much cheaper at United and Liverpool.

We haven’t yet got the level of corporate some other clubs have got, but piling on massive price increases to your regular fans just because the team is successful is not the way to make up the difference.

Hi, sorry if this isnt the right place to put this but signed up for a bit of advice .

My son is a man city fan but we live in scotland so not been to a game before. was looking to take him to the luton game for his birthday . So went on the club website , said you could buy tickets if you're a cityzen member so signed him, myself and his mum up so we could get tickets . Now that ive done that it says restricted sale , which from what i can gather from the website meams you have to have been to a game before to buy tickets. Had a look at other games and all showing restricted sale or sold out.

So currently £90 down for 3 memberships thinking i was going to be able to get tickets.

Just wondering how it actually works and what my best chance is of getting tickets?

Another thing to consider amomgst the hand wringing is that it is only really this season that the Seat Exchange has become widely used. In previous seasons in games likes this they would have looked to be virutally sold out but there would be thousands of no shows.

I know it's not quite the same but I remember one winter game a few years ago - and I mainly remember it because its the first time I wore a City hat and scarf since the 1981 cup final and I wore the same ones - where it was freezing cold and I suspect there weren't many more than half of the crowd actually turned up.

The game should have been a lower category and they should have put the tickets on open sale, maybe used it as a "Bring a Kid" type game. It was always going to be the lowest demand league game of the season.

Prices showed 4 cats at the start of the season (or second release if not available) and since then Burnley Prices have increased £2.

Seems Brentford are at £51, Villa £61 now, and likely all tickets have had a £2 price increase mid season, including concessions.

Therefore Burnley remain Cat 3 or C, just they increased ticket prices at some point this season.

I get pelters sometimes for saying this from the perspective of the club, but the ground is 90%+ full for an awkwardly timed cat C game with 95%+ of tickets already sold one time over and the money sat in the club's bank accounts. No one from the club is looking at that and wondering if they need to change strategies or if they've got their pricing wrong.

As someone on X said, "you can't have your cake and eat it"

Generally speaking, there are lists of pros/cons for unsuccessful and very successful teams.

One of the items that appears as a con for unsuccessful teams is 'watching other teams win everything'

One of the items that appears as a con for very successful teams is 'increased ticket prices'

I know which con I prefer.

Don’t see how anybody can defend the club when there are over 2000 seats available.

It’s not an awkward fixture. We’ve not had a league game at home since December. This not being sold out is dropped bollock by whoever decides on pricing.

Maybe they didn’t expect Burnley to return a thousand. Whatever they expected it’s a fuck up.

Hope they get better at making pricing decisions when there is another 8000 tickets to sell when the new stand opens.

Assuming you mean the home league game in April, then it's likely that you'll be able to pick up 3 tickets nearer the time when people put their seats up fr sale on the exchange or the club release seats that are held back for players etc.

The date of the Luton home game could move yet for TV. It’s difficult to get 3 seats together. It’s possible 3 together could become possible on the Ticket Exchange in the weeks before the game or if you are in an Official supporters Club Branch you could ask them to request 3 tickets together for you. You wouldn’t need to have been to another game through the OSC route but tickets are often on the third tier.

There’s a ticket page on this forum where you could see if skate tickets were available and a lot of tickets get resold on the Facebook Page Man City Face Value tickets and travel. Ask for vouches for sellers to avoid the risk of getting ripped off.
