Seat Counters - 2024/25

I really don't get this whole offsite hospitality thing. Surely if you're paying for hospitality, the whole point is that it's in the stadium with all the other posho's.

To me that package sounds like a £50 meal and a £70 ticket and them charging £400 for it!
Bingo, it's aimed at foreign tourists who have more money than brains

Had an email saying ST's can buy 3 tickets for Everton, surprising considering its boxing day. Logged in to have a look and cheapest tickets are £66. Not so surprising.
Exactly this. When are they going to stop taking the pee. £46 for a child it's a absolute joke.

Absolutely
They wouldn't even try to shift them at those prices for some games but try and shaft the fans when they can .If they don't all shift & the ones ticket agencies can't shift there will be a mad scramble to sell them Saturday morning

Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t the seats you get with these offsite hospitality packages largely towards the back of the third tier?
Absolutely. They're the seats the club were selling as £299 value gold a couple of years ago

EDIT: I’ve had a lot of feedback on this. Alongside my own reservations, I have heard the concerns shared by many. I will be opposing this in any meetings.

As you may have seen from previous City Matters minutes (and I have raised it on here), the Club are considering the reintroduction of checks on some away tickets.

My initial view is that there could be merit in this, but with two significant caveats.

1. As much as possible, the process must not get in the way of supporter’s pre-match activities.

2. All cohorts of away ticket recipients must be subject to the checks.

It was mentioned that on one or two occasions, people would be able to transfer or return their away tickets, to account for illness or life getting in the way. But this would be limited to stop a workaround.

That said, welcome all input on this. Appreciate that people may have concerns given the queues and inconvenience at Celtic and Paris previously.

Looking at the planner yesterday, it was pretty obvious that what happened with the Forest tickets has happened with Everton tickets. Loads have been returned from third party ticket agencies as there are rows upon rows of seats available towards the back of some of those 3rd tier blocks.

Unlike Forest, the club might get away with it this time though. Despite them being a higher price than Forest, because the game is on Boxing Day that will make it a big draw for a lot of fans. Plenty have already shifted and with over 2 weeks to the match I think they will all go, whereas for Forest the club were left with a couple of thousand of unsold seats due to tickets only being available at short notice and the match being midweek in December.

Firstly the checks need to be on who the club sells the tickets to, too many people are bypassing any points scheme that's in place and too many people are getting hold of tickets that they shouldn't be anywhere near. Is the club really going to ask one of the Barcelona eight that they need to go somewhere prior to the game or an American tourist who has paid £400 via a reseller site? We need transparency for every single away game about the percentage allocation for all groups. How would it work if a group of even just six are travelling together, planned a pre match meal and then a meet up with half a dozen more mates for a couple of drink before a game only to be told that two of them have to disappear somewhere to check a ticket. Before any check is made the whole issue of how sales are made needs to be investigated first.

Brentford sold out
Am I right in thinking this sold out at 25,000 points looking at the time of your message against the criteria announced? At 23,300ish points Brentford is one I haven't been able to do in all the years they've been in the Prem due to reduced allocation, a Tuesday night in Jan just after Xmas was potentially the best chance I had. Maybe we can get them in the 4th round of the cup with a slightly bigger allocation

That Forest one was always going to be a difficult sell, midweek, just before Christmas, unattractive opposition (the opposition shouldn’t matter but we all know it does). As soon as I saw that fixture when they were released, I knew it was going to be a struggle. The club clearly didn’t realise this, or simply didn’t care. They should have reduced how many went to the tout sites straight away, reduced how many were held back for off site hospitality and got as many tickets sold in the summer as possible. I believe the Southampton game on a Saturday afternoon was cheaper for those on Flexi Gold than the Forest one, which doesn’t make any sense.
They don’t appear to understand anything.
