Seat Counters - 2024/25

We will not; we have not been shifting tickets on the exchange on a regular basis for several months, so there will be empty seats dotted about all over the place. There has undoubtedly been a downturn this season. The club thought they would ride the crest of a wave forever, and they have not.

I don't give a shit what the “armchair morons” think; I care about what I and my fellow match-going blues think; in my opinion, and the opinion of many others, the current trend is depressing and worrying.
I think the opposite. City not being able to sell exorbitantly priced tickets is surely a good thing. I couldn’t care less about a few empty seats. The empty seats are the only way the club will revise ticket prices down.

At this stage I think you're right. £70+ for Everton and Newcastle, £45 for kids together with daft sales polices that stop you getting seats together until the last minute. We need to start celebrating empty seats, if they are substantially filling the ground at absurd prices, they will keep going up...

You’re possibly right, but I think rather than revise ticket prices down, they’ll look to squeeze more out of the people who attend.

The more money grabbing the club appear to be the more inclined I am to not spend a penny in and around the ground. I’ve stopped buying a half time pint this year.

Ticket prices for tomorrows game are scandalous, the same as Everton. Its like they want to self destruct and piss off the so called legacy fans. Whilst I have no doubt they are talented businessmen, pissing off your core customer base is catastrophic for more businesses unless by some miracle they find new customers. I am assuming they monitor all social media and realise the level of frustration from the fans on this amongst other topics including fans of other clubs in the home end particularly for European games. God help them when the capacity increases. They will have to rent a crowd to fill the empty seats. WTF is happening to our club. A bit like FIFA with the club world cup, they have been forced to reduce prices because of lack of demand for the competition. Lets hope common sense kicks in soon. It also reminds me of UK and European politics where the leaders do entirely the opposite of what the majority want them to do.

896 left for Newcastle. Double what it was yesterday, I wonder if they're starting to regret giving all these people guaranteed refunds.

We'll see what tomorrow brings, but I'd be very surprised if they all sell at 75 quid each.

I agree. The ticket exchange thing is great when you win every game and it's thirty quid.

The numbers on the exchange probably reflect half-term week (could be either this week or next week) and people being away. As well as the ridiculous pricing the people who may normally have been interested could also be away.

I take that point completely, and you always see plenty of Ticket Exchange seats popping up the week of the game.

The difference this season compared to past seasons, is that they're proving to be an absolute nightmare to shift, with Newcastle and Everton being great examples of this.

I put this down to the pricing turning most locals away, and the bad form turning tourists away

Spot on. It would cost me £150 to take my 2 kids to this game in tickets alone. We spent half that watching Madrid on Tuesday. Also, half term is a good time to visit family.

There will be a lot of people wanting to go today, and those tickets would be snapped up if they were priced properly. £70+ puts everyone off.

To the best of my knowledge, tickets listed this week will not be refunded unless they are sold. I could be wrong, but I thought that in order to receive the guaranteed refund, you had to list your seat by a specific date. That being said, I'm not entirely sure, so if I'm mistaken, someone can correct me.

What we are seeing is the onset of cracks in a ticketing strategy that is entirely dependent on the success of the past several years continuing ad infinitum. Questions must be asked of those who were putting it into practice because it was never a sustainable approach.

Newcastle are an entertaining team, it's Saturday at 3 o'clock, so what's the problem?
The weather: The weather might be a bit ropey later but the ground is all covered so just put another layer on.
The price then? Nowt you can do about that. The club want to screwed you, and will do so as long as they can get it down to a few hundred empties each game.
500 empty seats with an average price across age bands of £60 is £30,000. They would lose more than that if they dropped the price of the tickets sold by one pound, and a one pound discount hardly makes ticket prices significantly more attractive.
The only thing that might help is that the majority of games are selling out very close to kick-off at a time when we're reigning champions, and the most successful team in the country over the last decade. The club must realise that we are never going to shift an additional 7,000 tickets without a significant reduction in prices.
An alternative possibility is that we're only selling out late because of returns and there really are a huge number of fans willing to pay silly prices when the north stand extension is open. If that's the case then the greed will continue.
If we miss the CL I really can't see high numbers of tourists attending in either of the Thursday Leagues.

Just looked at the planner. Tickets available in nearly every block.

Looks at South Stand level 1 alone….
116 :15 seats available
117 :15 seats available
118 :19 seats available
119 : 15 seats available

Plenty of tickets for sale on here

This is so bizarre

Is it too late to canx the North Stand extension?

I can’t go today due to Daddy duties, i was toying with the idea of taking her but for £43.00 for an 8yr old - they can swivvle.

I’ll wait for the Plymouth game and get her in for a tenner
