Seat Counters - 2024/25

What was clearly evident yesterday, was how late the City fans arrived.
I used Wealdstone FC to park, already booked on for the final.
We took the overground from Ruislip about 2pm and got in the stadium around 3pm.
Walking up Wembley Way was 90% Forest at 2-30.
When inside, another striking thing was the number of strangers to the game.
Americans, Chinese, people of colour, other Asians, polish, lots with Non Mancunian accents.
I didn’t see the regulars I often see.
Clearly many regulars didn’t bother, with the slack taken up by new fans.
The South Yorkshire supporters club was sat around us.
I saw two whole families of 6 with young kids under 5 years, just do many faces I’ve never seen before and, you do normally see lots of fans you know and recognise.
Come the final, tickets will fly off the shelf, The club will only have two weeks to shift them, they need to get the criteria right.
Everyone that went to the semi get first dibs

Nothing is ever set in stone, if enough of a fuss is made and all fans get behind initiatives then organisations can be shifted.

Now saying that I can't see football fans sticking together at all but it's still worth a shot IMHO.
I believe the fa 'costed' the new wembley based on every semi being played there for a certain amount of years. Could be ten, could be a hundred..?

Yup I heard this too mate, but imagine if every fan of every club just went "No, but no thanks" and shown some backbone?

I'm not expecting this to happen but it could change things if it did, we need to get a little bolshie in this country and stop these fuckers taking the piss.

Absolutely brilliant support from everyone who went yesterday. I know you can't always gauge the atmosphere properly watching on TV, but it sounded like our fans outsang theirs despite being outnumbered!

Another final to look forward to and our THIRD trip to Wembley this season!
And our 5th visit in 13 months

The world is changing mate. I’ve got earache today from the 2 young British Asian women sat behind me who didn’t stop singing City songs all game. That said, the Blues in front of me might have got earache from my non stop chanting.

The newcomers get a bad name, but if only the regulars had the passion as these 2 women, the Etihad would be renowned for a great atmosphere.

Had some right nutters sat next to me at the Villa game, every item of the club shop they had on and boy did they make some noise when City scored, sadly for every tub thumping tourist there are the selfie mob (Even the pope wasn't immune).

Now we are through to the final, tickets will be like rocking Horse shit and hard to come by unless you get a ticket via our ticketing partners scammy scummers website and sell a fucking kidney :)

True mate. There was a group of 4 Germans or Poles in half and half scarves, yesterday. They were struggling to get a half-time pint and I tried to Lou t them in the direction of the shortest queue but it was lost in translation.

The Rico Lewis haters will be demanding tickets for the final too.

I think that's fair. But people will cry fowl. And the club won't do that. TBH I didn't go to the semi-final, so I could potentially miss out on a final ticket.

I'm not going to get into an argument about it, as it won't happen, but it did cross my mind yesterday after the match.

Yesterday was a prime example of a club being there that could fill their allocation and one who obviously even considering their proximity would struggle without some kind of day tripper so I get that.

Not thinking Rico is all that doesn't mean anyone hates him , I don't rate him but it doesn't mean I will stop supporting City because of peps blind spot mate ;-)

If I was surrounded by 40 Chinese fans all wearing Haaland and Debruyne shirts making noise and getting excited I would take that all day long, the iphone fuckers leave me cold.

Sat next to me in my sons seats, who couldn’t make the game against Palace was a Brazilian woman and her full kit son.
Mad as wasps, vocal (in Brazilian) and, when we scored, jeez, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!
Around me at Wembley yesterday, a Polish lad and his son, 3 Chinese couples, an Indian guy and his son, the South Yorkshire supporters club (where’s me whippet?!), plus many others with non Manc accents.
I don’t knock any of them.

Checks National Rail for cup final day…

No LNER services due to engineering on the east coast mainline.

Train down is via Birmingham and takes 5hrs. Train back is three changes, involves rail replacement buses and takes almost 16 hours, getting back into Edinburgh just before midday Sunday.

All for a bargain £340.80 return.

Might rule out the train option…

I am lucky enough to have a SC and didnt go yesterday but would be more than happy for anyone who attended to get first dibs on a final ticket.
