Seat Counters - 2024/25

Those £235 plus tickets will be a hard sell I reckon. To be honest I wouldn’t pay that for this one but if I had never been to a final I probably would.
Football used to be the working man's game. Now it is the nation's game. There are a quarter of a million millionaires in London and a significant 'middle class' who have money and leisure time. Two tribes.

People might laugh but I think football prices have reached their peak now and clubs are going to be looking at other sources of income. The crowd will be valued as theatre. You can't sell the dream if you have 10,000 empty seats in the background.

Been doing a bit of amateur seat counting today. We've hardly shifted any of the £255/£285 tickets. I'm not surprised who the fck wants to spend that sort of money on one match?

Club Wembley became less popular, so they are trying to charge club Wembley prices within allocations, the club should subsidise these, or use them as part of their allocation

Just been on the Palace forum (Holmesdale) and they've had one queue where all ST holders + members log on at the same time and are given a random position in the online queue. ST holders for 30 years are posting about being 25000th in the queue and waiting hours before they are able to buy a ticket (if there's any left).

Puts the City experience into perspective.
They're basically having their version of Madrid at home for us.

Given that their 20,000 or so season ticket holders wouldn't even come close to filling up the end, it baffles me that they wouldn't give them an opportunity to buy tickets first, there'd still be 13,000 left for members

The Americanisation of our sport continues and will do for as long as people show they are willing to pay the prices.

Look how much it costs to go to NBA, UFC, WWE or Broadway in the States. They're packed to the rafters because people want to be there. Top level football in England is the same. Yes, many will be priced out, but the FA/Premier League won't care as long as there's a class/group of people who will pay.

It’s funny how you get to find out what your price tipping point is. I’d probably have paid £250 for level 2 but I reckoned £285 was too much.
I paid £405 for an Istanbul ticket but, Including the 4 day all inclusive to Izmir and flying in and out of Istanbul I don’t really know what the total cost was but, as it turned out, it was worth every penny…

They did try and offload them to corporates first but even that was hard apparently.

I agree that the club could subsidise those down to at least the £175 top price. Crazy prices.

Yeah it was. I didn’t pay that much for my ticket for that but my flight was £800 and hotel about £200 so must have been a £1500 plus trip and I was only there 2 days. Like you say, worth every penny that one.

My first trip to Wembley for the 81 replay I had a £2.50 East Terrace ticket, believe the Saturday tickets were £3.50. Let’s say a decent seat was £10 then adjust for inflation and that’s roughly £35. wtf are they getting seats at £250? Complete and utter price gouging. This whole Wembley piss take stinks.

Match day revenue from fans in the stadium is neither here nor there. American investment trusts think that rather than 50,000 fans in a stadium, they can sell into 1 billion fans in ways that we haven't seen yet.

People are now using VR headsets for gaming and education. It is an immersive experience. Imagine China or India experiencing what it is to be like in the stadium through tech. That's the presentations these investment professionals are getting, and its ideas like that that explain why American businessmen who know nothing about football are invested in it. They aren't interested in ever increasing ticket prices. Of course they will take what they get. The novelty about football is the extreme passion and support that such 'brands' attract and that they think they can monetise but not in the ways that you would first think

Seat was £8 for the Saturday and £6.50 for the replay - still got my ticket stubs somewhere

Yes I did similar. 7 days in Izmir (great place) hotel flights and ticket for under £800. I think the day return flights were over a grand from M/c. Best holiday ever!

They needed to make the criteria tomorrow at 4pm a members free for all. The £175-285 tickets will be a tough sell if the criteria goes into next week
