Seat Counters 25/26

Two of my Everton mates shared a taxi with Burnham to one of their recent home games

They couldn't wait to quote him:

"City fans are always moaning, but they don't know how lucky they are with that stadium"
If they see him again tell him we aren’t moaning about the stadium. However the stupid fucking parking restrictions and the 19th century public transport system making it a nightmare to get to the stadium is another fucking thing. Smarmy **** (Burnham not you)

See, I completely agree with you here. As long as they keep their trap shut, there are no issues.

But so many on here have been massively bothered about it for the last few years, which is why I have thrown it out there........

Basically, the club will have heard those security concerns and moans and aimed to stop that too
I’ve been next to Liverpool fans twice. One I heard whispering and realised, who was very respectful and actually spoke highly of our team to his mate, didn’t celebrate their goal, so I left him well alone. The second celebrated and myself and another random blue alerted a steward and chucked him out.

Away fans in the home end has happened since the dawn of time. People need to get over it happening.
Never ceases to amaze me how unbelievably agitated some people get about;
(i) (quiet non lippy) away fans in City end,
(ii) half an half scarves
(iii) kids shining phone lights
(iv) pre-match light/lazer shows
(v) the stadium announcer calling out the goalscorer's name; and
(vi) pre-match music.

I was gonna add "early leavers".... but they do really piss me off....

I've been thrown out of Anfield (under a hail of pies) for celebrating in their end. George Weah equaliser, 2002. I've sat in their end another time too where we lost 3-0 and the blokes around me were chatting in the full knowledge I was a Blue.

Last night was an absolute fucking disgrace from many of our fans. 2nd in the League, title challenge ramping up, CL qualified, league cup final, still in FA Cup.

Yet fans everywhere around us moaning about the quality of football, even in the first half! Then 74 mins, the first ones get up and leave, then a constant flow up to just before 80 mins when thousand upon thousands start going. All the excuses as they're going, it's raining, it's cold, this football is shit, the buses/metro/trains/traffic are crap (things we should all expect watching football in a city!).

I'll await those giving excuses, or those saying it's a free world, but this club has an issue with it's fans, and it can't all be blamed on the club, ticket strategy, or in the pitch excitement.

Many of the long standing SC card holders really need to have a think at the end of this season whether they are turning up out of habit or want to be there. They're the ones who blame everyone else but they're the ones hugely guilty of creating a totally flat atmosphere.

Never thought I'd see the day where our fans thought that that where we stand this season isn't good enough or worthy of watching and supporting. What did we become

I agree with you on everything but one. Half n half scarves. They're a virus amongst our Glory hunters.

I dont think you see the bigger issue at play.

Just like fans of other clubs like to sneer at city for empty seats , whilst everton and spurs, just this week, in there shiny new stadiums, are having the same issues, they dont ask “why?”

Just quick to criticise

I can understand why both spurs and Everton have empty seats they are both playing shite.

I’d genuinely rather not go, than have to go through that. Did it at liverpool for the 3-2 George Weah game and hated every second and swore I’d never do it again. Would rather watch on tv 100 times out of 100 given that choice.

But I do agree totally with your post, that’s what they should do if they make that choice.
I did it for Newcastle away in 2012........

Pathetic isn't it, just enjoy the fucking game :)

Great post mate. SC holder for 28 years. Like you I’m sick of the constant moaning and mostly about nothing. We beat scousers and a 3-0 win last night. In all cup comps and yet here we are reading moan moan moan.
Took me over 2 hours to get to match last night after a 10 hour shift, up again at 5am. Piss wet through. Guess what, I’m used to it, I’m 55 yrs old and I bloody love watching City and god willing I’ll still be going at 85! Meeting the lads in the pub before and after at the weekends is class! For the record. Pep nailed it last night as did the lads with a controlled performance and subs used well. Roll on weekend. CTID

Burnham keeps saying how lucky we were to get the stadium because he wants to justify pushing for public finance to build a new raggy-dome.

Loads of us went up in the Anfield Road end when Weah scored, hardly any mither from the scousers.

If you're sick of listening to the moaning, then you better stay off the matchday thread, there was less complaining when we were losing away at Lincoln with Lee Bradbury leading the line...
As opposed to now being second in the league, in the Legaue Cup Final, likely to go far in the FA cup, straight into the UCL last 16.....this could be one of the most successful seasons in our history...and possibly the most complained about by the fans. My head hurts.

We were a full coach of 50 in the main stand, not too far from the Kop. The pies were flying at us after the equaliser and just as the police were ushering us out they scored, leading to mass goading and pisstaking as we left. I met my mate in the pub that night and he'd also been thrown out of the stand on the other side at exactly the same moment.

I could write a book on my home end exploits back in the day. You knew the score. If you took a risk you could be out. I've kept my mouth closed at some of them.
