Seat Counters 25/26

You'd have thought Salford would hoover-up a lot of Trafford Tramps fans for Saturday's cup tie ?
Don't think Carrick & Co. have much on ?
Bit OT:

This will be (iirc) city’s 41st game of the season… and there’s still another 4 months of the season. 12 PL, 1 LC, 2+ CL, 1+ FA.

United are going to be playing 40 games in their entire season.

They are going to take a massive revenue reduction (matchday, broadcasting, participation), compared to last year. I was hoping that they’d be out of Europe again next year, but it looks like they’ll be in… the best we can hope for is 6th or worse for them… else the CL money next year will save them from SCR.

So, they have many many free weekends/weekdays to support their local teams. Coleraine, Molde, Arsenal etc, should be having bumper crowds…

It seems to me, although I haven’t really been studying the issue too much, that the ticket exchange system just needs enhancing. There should be two options …

1) Return to the club
2) Transfer to another

When using option 2 the ST holder simply enters the email address or mobile number of who they are transferring to (and how much refund they want, 0%, 50% or 100% eg) and that starts the process of the recipient “buying” the ticket for a nominal processing fee plus the ticket balance (100%, 50%, 0% etc). The club generate and validate new supporters if they’re not already registered and existing fans don’t have to go through all the rigmarole of registering people.

Keep Ticket Transfer just for transferring to Cityzens and Seasoncard holders.

There’s probably a big hole is this idea I haven’t thought of though!

I like the outline of your idea mate. Maybe City could ensure the Blue gets the first ticket at the 50% rate and the difference pays for that year’s membership fee. After that the fan gets the 50% discount less the small admin fee.

The transaction should require minimum effort but a few details are taken for the first transaction of the season to buy renew membership. Thereby City meet their legal requirements.

There’s all sorts of promos they could run whenever they feel like it but whatever it should be should be easy for the supporter to do. I’d probably say £5 transfer fee for each ticket but then if they pay 5 times they qualify for a Cityzen card (equal to the £25 price they would normally pay) which entitles fans to zero fees via ticket transfer. Or even just 3 games.

Oldham away was the wettest ive ever been during or after a football match
I was there that day with my mate. We were only kids and feeling very smug because we were in the side bit under roofing looking at the thousands of City getting soaked behind the goal. Soon stopped being smug when we got caught in a monsoon on the way to the bus stop. Great days!

You see this is proper seat counting. You simply cannot beat experience. Bluesmith is the seat counter's seat counter.
Yourself, @bluesmith and @M18CTID make it onto my Mount Rushmore of seat counting.

We'll definitely be needing that experience over the next couple of weeks!

You're up there too pal.

Looking forward to this one. It has the potential to match last year's cup final. I feel we have a strong squad in place at the moment with some up and coming talent too. See you here Monday morning ready for duty.

Yes looking forward to it.

I'm going to make the early prediction that it will sell out, however I rekon it could be a bit of a slog to sell the final few thousand.

Probably an accurate prediction and they obviously realise that from the selling criteria. Them getting them out to members quickly with additional tickets should get it over the line. I still think they should have offered an additional ticket to season ticket holders immediately.

Top tier behind pretty much the whole end from corner flag to corner flag. Never seen it mentioned as safe standing before. Do they have rails in that end now?
Yeah just reading they've installed 10000 extra safe standing up there, and the upcoming England games and LC final will be the first events to use them
