Following the extension of the North Stand ‘Seat counting at the Etihad’ is now being offered as a three year Degree course at Manchester University from September 2026.
Call up, they will change definitely change it. Have the seat planner open and tell them where you want the ticket changed to. They will do it there and then. She bought it and I don’t think match members can return their tickets. Maybe worth a check though thanks.
It’s noticeable this season that this is happening more than ever before. My daughter wanted to come with us for Bournemouth. A couple of weeks ago when she bought a ticket there was hardly anything available - literally a seat or two in each section available. Now suddenly there are hundreds and hundreds and she could have been sat near us rather than the other side of the ground. Wtf?
Indeed. The system is crumbling under its own stupidity.
Spot on. Makes far too much sense though for City so instead they have to piss you around with additional rules - you now have to consider whether you will survive the assault couse on who you can add as a friend etc |(at certain limited times obvs), and then meet the attendance register, before factoring in actally considering transferring a ticket to someone else.Indeed.
Loads of season ticket holders can’t make certain games due to work or other things that cannot be missed from time-to-time. Sometimes last minute things that crop up, or illness on the day of the game.
They should be able to transfer their ticket to whoever they want; their brother, best mate who the person they sit next to at the Etihad who can then bring their missus, bother or best mate.
So they collected the empty seats and CHUCKED them all together. It’s noticeable this season that this is happening more than ever before.
We aren’t the champions of anything this season, and fewer tourists seem to be bothering with us. City’s ticket tout partners are obviously returning tickets to City because they haven’t been able to shift them to the daytrippers who used to want a day out to watch the champions, and City are then listing them on the official ticket site.
Against Burnley there were loads of empty seats in the corner of the North Stand and East Stand. Against Everton there were loads up in the top tier of the Colin Bell Stand. In both areas the empty seats were chucked together or in one noticeable block.
Still 628 of the £25/£30 Bournemouth unsold
Buying a set of memberships is a tough sell for a family to bring the kids now and again. It's a couple of weeks food shopping for a mum. Had a similar experience to you.Just shows how the club have completely shot itself in the foot with its stupid pricing, stupid membership rules and stupid ticket transfer rules.
My sister and her family would have been all over this a few years ago. Club got greedy on memberships and so they fucked it off.
Wow. Genuinely thought they would fly off the shelves at that price.Still 628 of the £25/£30 Bournemouth unsold
There’s still plenty of time for most of these tickets to shift.Wow. Genuinely thought they would fly off the shelves at that price.
I know you’re right, but that mentality is alien to me. You turn up to get behind the boys. Pure and simple. Suppose it’s a sign of the times. There’s still plenty of time for most of these tickets to shift.
Fans have become more selective and know - after last season - that they aren’t guaranteed to see us win.

Danny Wilson is a ****The club must accept that they have badly mishandled ticketing; all of their tweaking around the edges is only making matters worse. Restricting who you can transfer to and how many times you may transfer is creating more problems than it is solving; look at all the empty seats at the Burnley and Everton games for instance, and resale sites must be reined in, as they are the biggest problem of all.
Whoever has been in charge of ticketing should be removed from that position, and a route and branch review should be conducted to determine how to grow a sustainable match going fanbase that balances present and future attendance with revenue.
I agree mate. I thought the last home game against Everton was brilliant and Bournemouth is close to a top of the table clash.I know you’re right, but that mentality is alien to me. You turn up to get behind the boys. Pure and simple. Suppose it’s a sign of the times.
I’ve got a spare ticket for the Bournemouth game which I simply can’t arsed to move on. It’s going to sit empty.I see that new Premier League rule which forced City to bring in these ticket transfer changes, where they must know exactly who is in the ground, has been temporarily forgotten about for the Bournemouth game.
Wait til next Friday when the club put hundreds of the hospitality seats which they can’t shift back on the planner as normal seats.Wow. Genuinely thought they would fly off the shelves at that price.
