I’d imagine something would flag up at City’s end when a cup final ticket is upgraded. It’s a form of queue jumping and it’s possible you may need to collect the ticket from Wembley with ID.

Not a chance, don't know what phone you have, but on Android in google wallet the bit to scan doesn't have a name on it, to actually check they'd need to go deeper into your phone to find it.

I'm not so sure about that, DD. It does clearly state on the City website that "anyone attempting to use a ticket in someone else's name will be refused entry". So, fans should be aware that there is a small risk that they might be the subject of one of the "limited number of tickets checks" and if their name is not on the ticket, it could be a problem.

I can only guess that there are loads of Blues who will be in this position of having a ticket in the name of a family member or friend and that a random check might present a problem. Some posters on here e.g. Tbilisi, have confirmed they were subjected to random checks at earlier finals. So, best to know that there is a small risk involved.

If you’ve paid £125, don’t worry that someone has a cheaper ticket.

They block the ticket on the turnstile reader and you then have to go to the ticket office that is solely for city fans and you have to produce id in the name of the original purchaser and they have a paper ticket waiting for you if your details match.
Its a slim chance it will happen to you but it can and does happen, as I can testify.

I was replying to poster who had already posted that..I was surprised they just didn't announce the actual criteria tonight not just release that holding statement... especially due to fixed time constraint involved for all.

But how do they do these checks if the tickets dont have names on them?
