Seat Counters 25/26

don't get it mate. even the home games through the years have been great, bayern 2014 and 2023, madrid 2023, Monaco 2017, psg 2016, barca 2016
True, but you've literally included the handful of memorable.big games that we won,.and ignored all the forgettable dead rubbers (Sporting Lisbon and Basel etc) or half hearted performances against teams more interested in damage limitations.

By my calculations Napoli will be.our 87th European home game at the Etihad and aside from the 7 COVID fixtures I've attended every fixture.

However I attend out of habit more than anticipation, and without googling would struggle to recall much detail
Different story for the away games which are thoroughly more enjoyable for completely different reasons

My main gripe about the CL is that currently we can't sell out without making the ticketing system more flexible and customer friendly, but the moment we do, we attract more neutrals and opposition supporters

I get your point but there's always going to be dead rubbers or boring games in a season. This game against Napoli will be neither. City don't help themselves with the criteria, it should be opened up to season ticket holders/members to purchase an additional ticket now with the game 9 days away

How come Napoli is struggling to sell? Think the tickets are reasonably priced personally
Last season seemed to be a tipping point for many near me. The extra game to buy, the noticeably fewer regulars replaced by obvious opposition fans, the parking/travel difficulties of night matches and the stupid pricing. It wouldn’t surprise me if a few ditched the scheme resulting in the extra available seats we now see. I dropped out this season but have still bought tickets for this one. I’ll see how it goes on the night if I come to any others.

I think this was one of the biggest things for me along with ticket prices and why I’ve stopped attending champions league games. The last Real Madrid game i attended I was surrounded basically by away fans and people there for a day out.

It felt like I wasn’t at a city match. I may as well just watch it in the pub

Yeah I was only referencing the way you cherry- picked your CL memories and definitely agree with your main point

It's as simple as this.

My Mrs is an occasional fan but wants to go to the Napoli game.

However she won't be able to sit next to me or even in my.block.
Oh.and she's 61 so feels a bit intimidated if she's not with me.

In an ideal.world City would just.allow.me.to relocate and the whole process would only take 2 minutes
In the real world that's at.least an hour on the.phone, and then the Ticket Office tell me to try again next week.when she becomes eligible

Price is one.thing. i am on the cup scheme and am paying it.
The match was arranged at less than three weeks notice, though, and is midweek. I cant make ir as its on Thursday not the Tue/Wed I had planned for.
Price is only one variable. Football.needs to stop treating its supporters like the live studio audience on a dreadful TV sitcom.

Would it help if UEFA made the draw a couple of weeks earlier and put the final dozen or so play-off teams in as "A or B"? Or even at the start of August and have the final couple of play-off rounds in there. Plenty of sports have structured draws.

You can now buy 4 tickets per season card/membership for Napoli
It’ll be interesting how you hand over said additional tickets.
If they allow us to fob people in, the club won’t know who has got them.
If they allow us to share them by email, they won’t know who has got them.
If they allow us to print at home, they won’t know who has got them.
Makes an absolute mockery of us seasoncard holders not being able to send Premier league tickets to other season ticket holders if we can’t get to a game.
I’m sure the OSC and City Matters will pick this up and use it as more ammunition for the club to rethink their current stance for league games.

I've just gone to buy an extra one in my name. It's going to be sent to my email, which I will then forward on to my pal.

I noticed that since they allowed us to buy up to 4 tickets they've added a paragraph in the criteria which reads...

"Supporters found to be passing their tickets on to away supporters, directly or indirectly, may be in breach of the terms and conditions and could face further action by the club, including receiving a ban from attending future matches; full details can be found in the Supporter Charter. If you can no longer attend, contact the club to discuss your options."

Prices aren't bad for Europe's premier club competition but too many of our fans don't hold the CL in high esteem. - But they'll all turn up on Sunday to see us play a team that didn't qualify for any of the three European tournaments.
In a Vacuum, no the prices aren't the worst in the world.

But in the context of a working class fanbase being extorted for every last penny they've got over the last 5 years, with many having to make tough choices, actually it makes every bit of sense why a game like this would struggle to sell out.

The club were happy to do this as they thought the never-ending stream of tourists will continue to fill the stadium every week, however this season is going to show that this is no longer the case. This started last season with games such as Villa, this is just the continuation of that.

Did they give you any timeframe on this?

Im on the scheme but have just purchased an extra ticket for my daughter next to me - got the email confirmation but nothing on there about a link to a ticket or how to access it. Do I have to run a 4 min mile, provide the blood from a Unicorn and do a Rubik's cube in under 1 minute to get the ticket to my daughters phone?

As part of the buying process I just had to select Mobile Ticket from the drop down menu and then select the email I want it to get sent to, which I picked my own.

I've not had anything yet either, and I could've sworn that for home games you used to receive them Ticket by email instantly. Maybe it'll be more like away games where they send them out 5 days before or so.

Yeah I did the same selecting my email.

I'm hoping to avoid having to phone them as I don't have any entire afternoons spare to do so.
