Seat Counters 25/26

There an argument on here regularly that the club is too expensive and has priced out core support. However we have a league cup QF coming up with prices set at £25 quid , if that isn't low enough what are people actually expecting prices to be set at to bring these people back?
Yeah but it's a school night and it might get a little nippy in December. Some of them won't want to go because it's a night game and could get dark.
People will find excuses/reasons to not go even if the club lowers prices and has sensible ticket sale restrictions.

15 quid a pack of ciggies, £6 a pint, and I don't how much these puffas cost.

But a tenner to watch a top Premier League club

There needs to be a balance to these perceptions.

Some Older fans lose interest, City need to replace them with younger fans. And that is the million dollar question
But these younger fans don't exist, those ten year olds at the time of the 93;20 who you'd normally expect to catch the bug would be in their early 20s now and they aren't there. A tiny proportion of locals fans between the age of 16-25 watch City when you'd normally assume people would be desperate to watch the most successful club of the last decade, they have no sense of belonging and the club had alienated great swathes of local supporters, lapsed fans are still not returning in any real numbers, once you get out of the habit you generally don't return and ALL of this is down to the club and their policies.

you see loads of 16-25 at away games

Not for a QF I don’t think.

But you’ve alluded to a different problem there, if you price too low then some will buy the ticket but knock it on the head on the day. Some people do that now when it’s £50+. Not me, I’m a tight arse and always like to get my money’s worth.
Wasn't it that we lost first game 3 0 and we won 2 0 place was rocking , wasn't it in the europa league

With due respect, and I consider myself a genuine City fan I don't find it difficult to buy a Ticket'
With regard to buying a ticket, it's not as simple as you suggest....it used to be, but not anymore.

For instance Newcastle on 21st February is "sold out". There is availability for Wolves and Brighton but you can't get 2 or 3 together.

Do we seriously believe there won't be bunches of empties for these games, not solely explained by season ticket exchanges, and Flexi returns?
You cannot sell hospitality packages if there are bunches of tickets available to buy at reasonable prices, you need the myth of "exclusivity", hard to get elsewhere tickets. It's that simple. There are thousands of seats unsold for those games, but it doesn't pay to sell them to fans.

Read posts from @give it to gordon, he has an almost identical buying experience to me, it has continually deteriorated to the point of simply not being worth the hassle....and then you get out of the habit and more used to the TV experience.
I used to coordinate 5 memberships and buy for a bunch of us to sit together, was easy, but became impossible even with years of loyalty and purchase history. Had to spend a day in July with multiple devices scrambling for tickets, buying seating close enough to each other and then trying to sit beside on the day, and seething when I see bunches of empty seats together elsewhere on matchday. No thanks.

To further your point - this is 'Seat Pick' for that game - why is it far easier to buy a ticket from an 'unofficial' channel than the club. It's not right.

But those tickets might not exist OR someone has re-sold their tickets illegally to them. These tickets could get cancelled if the club spot them. I don’t know why people keep posting these screenshots the only official partners are …

The "sitting together" argument is a strange one to me.
The first 15 years at the Etihad I had an East Stand level one season card, it was reasonably near to the lads I went to the game with, but not next to them. I couldn't have cared less.
Because of spending a couple of months in Spain, I have given it up and go on a game basis, mainly in 9330. Mrs Asa comes now and we never sit together, we both want to watch the game not talk about what has gone wrong with the car, or went last night, some of the conversations are mind blowing, but I do understand everyone has a different viewpoint.

They do exist. The age cap (14) doesn’t help and pricing for some fixtures also. Younger fans also pick and choose. It’s still only 11 years since we won our second title under Pellegrini. It takes time. Most kids born after 2012 are only 13 at the most now.

They aren't cancelled though - nailed on there will be an empty clump tomorrow high in the third tier on either side where a reseller, official or unofficial have tickets. There are constantly seats around me in the third tier sold to non-City fans. 3 in front me haven't been sat in by City fans all season. Yet two or three seasons ago they were often sat in by families of City fans.

I get adverts on IG from those 'partners' and livefootballtickets all the time. In fact P1 have seats for that Newcastle game available too yet the club don't.

My view/frustration is there's a clear demand from City fans for tickets from the club but they prefer to ignore this and make it easier for them to be purchased elsewhere. We then run into the issues like last week.

So you are saying the club are putting these tickets on unofficial sites?

It is a great shame if City have alienated 16/25 year olds I haven't the evidence you have.
Away, and I am lucky to get tickets, I see alot of young men, at home I have met many young kids at their first match, dad's saying they love City.
I hope that the loyal mancu ian legacy dads are not wavering in their duty,

So you are saying the club are putting these tickets on unofficial sites?

I think there are number of general admission tickets being pushed into 'hospitality packages' and put into these partners to start with, which aren't selling. Who knows what contract terms are in there that allow these partners to find a buyer.

Does it seem fair that City fans can't buy tickets from the club in a reasonable time before the game, but can from these partners?

Agreed there are risks with unofficial resellers, but I know of plenty of people who have bought successfully a few times from live football. They are usually "fans" reselling.
Often restrictions on them like "iPhone only" or lots of U18 tickets. Dunno why.
As the club rightly clamp down on these kinda schemes, the sellers get more creative. Friend told me he was bringing the family to Anfield and had to collect 4 burner phones to get in.....

Why don’t the Blues who say they won’t go to Gala at home game go to the Brentford QF??
I don't see it exactly like that, but it does puzzle me.
This, to me (Brentford) is old fashioned football. Cheap prices, sudden death and everything the Champs League isn't.
Champs league is now like the farce the world cup is turning into but the League Cup, a semi final to play for, Bovril, jumpers for goal posts, how can anyone not be up for that ?

Agree that the Brentford match is an attractive tie.
Unfortunately, the League Cup, as a competition, is not generally seen as a priority.
Realistically, it is City's best chance (with being in the Qtr. Finals) of winning a trophy.
Hopefully, it will be a 45k + crowd, which is a very good turnout...

To be fair I’d say 45k is probably the size of our core fanbase currently. The tourists aren’t interested in league cup games as well. You can see the difference in the crowd - cup games to champions league
