Seat Counters 25/26

As I’ve explained. My wife supports Brighton. We live 20 mins from Brighton. Before our 2nd child we had season ticket at city. Because I have always supported city and would make the long drive every home game.

When my youngest was born we couldn’t get 4 together. Along with Covid, the super league etc we didn’t renew. As kids got older we missed going live football. We couldn’t justify the ad hoc prices for city games and it’s impossible to get one season ticket let alone 4 at city. so my wife got us season tickets at Brighton so we could enjoy football as a family.

My youngest now supports Brighton. My eldest is torn. Leaning towards Brighton now. My wife said we should go in the away end for Wednesday game as it was significantly cheaper thanks to cap on away tickets. I reluctantly agreed because money is tight after Christmas and I have dragged her many times to city games despite her not supporting them.

I watched the game from away end. I hated it. My wife and kids had a great time.

Hope that sums it up for you. Funny how I have to justify myself to people or prove I am/was a city fan. I don’t think it’s hard to understand what I’m saying.

If you need proof of me in city shirts throughout the years happy to provide them (that’s sarcasm btw)

A perfect example of the monumental fuck up the club have made re tickets.

Heres a family of 4, who wanted to add to their season tickets as more kids came along but it wasnt possible.
So instead they went else where.

Now imagine they got 4 tickets for city, the kids would be city fans forever, instead they are Brighton fans. I mean, what a fuckin cock up.

Ill be forever grateful to the sheik for making my dreams come unexpectedly true, but the men hes put charge have turned us into everything we hated.

And people wonder why fans are walking away.

What a shame

I know you’ve been a long time Blue but I read your post as you’ve got to end of your tether and were switching to Brighton and you could be at the games with your son. If I’ve misread that then that’s my bad.

You like everyone is entitled to their views. I don’t know where you’ve got this snidy stuff from. That’s pretty poor from you but it’s water off a duck’s back.

Our Directors are money focussed, ruthless business people. Yes it would be good if there were pre-season games where more local fans have access to the players but they go abroad to raise income and the upshot is we get to see Haaland and Donaruma.

The facts are they you failed to recognise anything positive City in the Community does or how our owners have helped to transform East Manchester. You might not rate that but in doing so your post lacked balance.

Regarding tickets being un affordable. I do something about that. I’ve ensured a Dad and lad got free tickets for tomorrow and I’ve got another pair of tickets that will go to Blues. Admittedly, tickets are cheap for tomorrow.
I’m not attacking you. I know who you are from being a member of this forum since 2015 and reading it from about 2008. And I applaud what you do for fans.

My points is. The club shouldn’t need people like you to it make it affordable. That isn’t your job tha is something you do because you want to help.

And what have they done in return? They have made it harder for people like you to sell tickets, send tickets etc. so the upshot is local fans can’t afford to go. Generations will be lost. It’s no surprise non league is thriving. City aren’t unique with these issues. I see a lot of fans of the “bigger” teams feel the same way. They don’t feel appreciated and they feel that they are an inconvenience to their clubs.

This is my gripe. The club have forgotten who they are. That’s my opinion. That’s how I feel.

Anything but these Colin Schindleresque essays
As I say. Condescending and snide. Il even throw in sanctimonious now for good measure.

I can see people are getting fed up with my posts. So I won’t post on this thread again.

I’ve had my say and I don’t want to keep beating a dead horse nor do I want to spoil anyone’s enjoyment of the forum with my drivel.

Hope everyone has a good weekend

All the best mate. You are clearly a passionate Blue.

FWIW tickets have already become easier to get hold of with memberships and there will be a lot more opportunity for tickets next season that are hopefully more affordable.

Your petty name calling is water off a duck’s back. Especially from someone who sees “tourists” everywhere they go lol.

Dont let knob heads put u off

Youve pointed out issues and there are a lot of posters who wont hear a bad thing about the club, no matter what, and will blindly defend

Keep posting and pointing out your concerns

You want shooting.

You shouldn't have bothered Tim , he failed to mention that Brighton charge more than City and Citc has done far more than whatever thier equivalent is
That’s a great point actually. They only brought 980 away fans to our place as well. Our club does more for the community than any other club. It’s not even close.

To be fair for the last few seasons Brighton support at our place has been very good.
Regards the work City do in the Community, you shouldn't really be mentioning that, the media and many of our fans would deny it categorically. -:)

I know Alex Williams has now retired from CITC but he was going around the concourse on Wednesday shaking hands and chatting with fans.
