Seat Counters 25/26

It’s not just us . Everton fans are already morning about their stadium with lack of pubs, parking issues , queues , prices and ticket agencys causing issues , there was a load of empty seats there last night. West Ham fans , Spurs fans and Loverpool
to name a few all having similar issues and apathy setting in.
Loads of groups of seats at Everton being blamed on Seat Unique

I know Alex Williams has now retired from CITC but he was going around the concourse on Wednesday shaking hands and chatting with fans.
I met him a while back, told him I watched him save a pen at Upton Park. He told me he was proud of that one, he said it was off Ray Stewart who rarely missed. He’s a really great guy, and a blue legend.

Yes he is a good guy, I had dealings with him on 2/3 occasions when working doing checks on the program.

We talked City and he got one of the younger lads to let me wander round Maine Road with him. He also offered me tickets for whatever the next game was the first time I met him but, I declined as I had a ST....he just said "I knew you would" and laughed.

A few years later I met him at the friendly in Abu Dhabi and he remembered me and later still at the golf in Rochdale a few times.

I don’t go last night full of a cold and I also missed Chelsea as it was fucking freezing and I preferred to be watch it on the telly, few factors I think - the football is not amazing to watch, cost, we have won it all, we don’t have enough young fans in the ground creating an atmosphere (this is down to pricing) and also transport. Getting home from City even to town (I live on Deansgate) is a pain In the arse. I don’t want to be sandwiched on a tram at 10 at night when I work today. Club needs to have a think. I am in danger of loosing my season ticket as I think I am allready on 4/5 games missed! Oh well
You live a couple of miles from the ground and you're struggling to get to 10 matches over a whole season?

After 50 odd years of having a season ticket I'm probably going to call it a day they main reason parking it's a massive pain in the arse I don't mind getting the train ( from Warrington ) but night matches there's no late trains home, the trams back to town are a joke, it all just takes the enjoyment out of what use to be the highlight of my week.
There's trains from Oxford Road at 22.48, 23.14 and 23.28. £2.70 with a railcard

I agree mate a true City legend. I am very lucky to have a chat with Alex every now and then at Supporters Club meetings.

On a wider point, I am really impressed with the transformation of the ex Players’ Association to Once a Blue and how are legends are keeping in touch with each other and are more accessible to the fans.

Plenty of trains back to Warrington after 22:00, TPE from Piccadilly or Oxford Road. Northern from Oxford Road with plenty of trains to jump on from Piccadllly to Oxford Road if needed.

The best site to track trains is "Realtimetrains"

You can see if any train is actually running and where it is.

For example, I note a TPE service was running a little late last Wednesday.

It may have been a struggle to catch it if it was on time, but possible with the delay.

Depending on your physicality, or anyone else for that matter. The walk from the city centre (Piccadilly area) is a piece of piss, safe, variable options including the canal which is very pleasant.

I don't understand why able bodied people bother with the Tram from the city centre, different if you've travelled on it from further but joining a tram in the city centre, no chance.

Tried it a couple of times, nightmare. By the time you have waited and got on you can be at the ground. Add in the overcrowding breathing in god knows what.

I have never attempted to get a Tram back to Town after the match, even when had a ticket. Complete waste of time, leave it for those that need it.

The walk using the canal brings you out near Piccadilly and the decent Pubs bars etc. The Piccadilly Tap on station aproach is a great carrot to head for if walking.

Being an keen walker in the past, walking back to Oxford Rd from maine Road was never a problem but with having to have both hips replaced in the last 18 months walking any distance has been difficult, also when some night matches are on there has often been a very poor train service back to Warrington and often cancelled due to strikes, so being unreliable.
Getting old is a fucker.

Someone fcked up at the ticket office. There’s no way that game was sold out. There was rows upon rows of empty seats in the north stand and elsewhere

Posters might say it’s sold out - as tickets sold, but there is no way that many people, all in the same sections decided not to go.

I think a lot of people have been prevented from attending today, because of the clubs policies

You know it’s tickets sold nought to do with empty seats! You can’t report sold out if it isn’t

So those three empty rows I could see in the corner of the family stand was just people not attending then?

Or could those rows I could see, actually be seats held back by the club?

Tax reasons if you report it’s sold out it’s sold out if people who got tickets decide not to come it’s there business.

If tickets sold was 44k fine have moan but moaning when the club say it’s sold out is wasted energy..

It’s not wasted energy at all. Loads more kids could have attended today.

It’s clearly not just people not deciding to attend is it. Do you honestly think 4 rows of seats all together decided not to attend?

A lot of these empty seats are because they go to ticketing websites. Greyed out on the ticket planner as well, so it’s always ‘sold out’ or unavailable

It could be tickets sold to school somewhere the weather has been shit.

I had a ticket today, but didn't go, the reason was the train ticket price was nearly £70 return (with a FOC railcard), I didn't book earlier because of other uncertainties.
