Agree 100%
I remember listening to Chris Bird at a Supporters Club meeting circa 2001, when we were still at Maine Road, but had agreed in principle to move into the new stadium after the Commonwealth Games etc
Somebody queried if the new 47,000 capacity would be big enough and Bird made the quite reasonable point that despite some huge individual attendances in the 1930s, City had never averaged 47,000.
Obviously nobody could have envisaged such a huge transformation, but 25 years later we get ridiculed for recording an attendance of "only" 47,000
The next step was 54,000, and despite all the moaning and groaning (some of it justified) we normally sellout
Yes,.the prices should be more flexible and competitive, but not so cheap that some cup scheme members can just let their account be debited without any intention of attending
Also, the whole ticket buying process should be slicker and easier to navigate for neutrals, and especially.the "occasional" visitors, who should be welcomed with open arms by the regulars and not viewed with disdain and snobbery.
However once the capacity is increased to 60,000 we need to overcome this fear of ridicule and just accept that we'll only sellout for certain games and probably average "only" 57000
It's only going in one direction and with our school playground demographic rapidly increasing from the bad old days of the 90s and 00s it will undoubtedly continue
