Seat Counters 25/26

Man Utd get massive media backing and can survive the bad times. We are labelled as cheats. I don't think there is any prospect of Man Utd's fanbase eroding. I am not sure I want that to be honest. I want a healthy vibrant City dominating a healthy vibrant football world.
I think this is having a negative affect on us attracting new fans, and just the constant negative PR around the club, you only have to look at the HYS comments on the Guehi signing.... we need that case put to bed with a positive outcome asap

Is that 44,000 full seats or 8,000 empty seats. Two 44k attendances wouldn’t be the end of the world in my book but it’s all about opinions.

I think fans should meet the club in the middle (like most do) because we want to see top players continuing to run out for City. The club could ease up some of the ticket transfer restrictions including letting season card holders have more than one ticket on their account. More match day members could buy memberships that would allow them to buy cheaper match day tickets.

The club could cut the cost of match day memberships to £20 for adults and a fiver for juniors. For info, as someone who runs an OSC Branch, I’ve paid for several memberships for members this season. The Club should also restore the memberships of banned fans who have been cleared of wrongdoing.

BTW, we will get 55k crowds next season with the 4k extra season cards that will be sold. Flexi tickets for juniors have been £9 this season. There are a lot of younger families who’ve been blocked from getting season cards together.

The club could put a block on further “technology upgrades” at the turnstiles that proved to be a nightmare.
I think they will fix the digital ticketing gradually. That's the sort of thing that one club will get right, and then they will all copy it.

8,000 unsold in my opinion, if this was closer to 50,000 I’d agree with you but with the extra Newcastle away end, we’ve only sold roughly 35,000 to City fans for that game so far, that’s a very poor crowd for a club of our size in our position. What happens next season if we’re in the same position but it’s Bournemouth in the League Cup? Half the ground will be closed. It’s a disaster from any sort of perspective.

They need to scrap charging for match day memberships. They should sell in bundles, say both Newcastle and Galatasary for £30 for adult members, £10 for concessions for both games. Premier League Category C games should be £30 for adults and £10 for kids.

They need to reverse the damage they have done and get people back into the habit of going. A packed stadium makes such a difference to the fee of a club.

Every club's fanbase has the potential to erode or be overtaken, but that wasn't my point

Maybe so Marvin. There’s a mindset in the City admin/ management that needs to be rectified too. We don’t want to be Guinea Pigs for ID recognition just because they ran a Dragon’s Den for business start ups a few years back.

FWIW, I'm sure Galatasaray sales would've been higher if it weren't for the restrictions that are in place. For once, we can't really blame the club for this - although I'll be interested to know if the same restrictions are being put in place for those tickets being sold via one of their 9 ticketing partners! - as there were concerns that there would be Galatasaray fans all over the stadium like they were at Old Trafford recently so the club put in place that you had to have been a member before a certain date AND that you'd previously attended 3+ games before being able to buy tickets.

It’s easier than ever to get tickets at Utd. They’ve had premier league games go to general sale this season and still not sell. The difference is though it’s been about 100 tickets left in a 75,000 stadium, so you wouldn’t notice, but it shows their demand has dipped too.

I think the Club have done the right thing. It’s now up to our fans who were worried about security to decide if they are going to fill our stands and, in doing so, contribute to the safety of fellow Blues.

It’s still pricey though. Bought r kid a ticket in 93:20 and it’s £60.

Some good points you raise mate but the reality is the core fans will be there for Newcastle in the Cup. If we sell 35k then that’s our real hardcore. Not these mystical regulars who turn up for City vs Arsenal, Utd and the bin dippers at home.

The signing up for memberships is a bit of a hassle. Within a few games, members will get their money back and match day tickets have got cheaper on the face value forums and from City. FWIW, I’ve given away several tickets this season and have been thwarted giving away more because people don’t or couldn’t get the memberships.

That was our hardcore 20 years ago. It should be a larger number by now. More games should be going to general sale in my opinion. Newcastle still isn’t on general sale, it’s madness.

132 tickets sold since yesterday at 11.30am.
Tickets remaining for League Cup Semi-Final 2nd Leg v Newcastle. Less than 2 weeks to go until the game and selling about a couple of hundred tickets a day. Likely about 9000 empty seats for it - attendance of about 43k

Level 0: 3,710

Level 1: 3,622

Level 3: 4,333

Total: 11,665 tickets left
Pay day for most is next week after Christmas

If the MCFC hierarchy troll "Blue Moon", then look closely at the above tickets still available for a Semi-Final.
Only the City money men/women can decide on how to turn this into a sell-out.
But, something drastic needs to be done now.
Obviously, City will need to compensate (or perhaps promise Cup Final tickets, if we get through) people who have already bought tickets.
Wake up City, get the price down and make it easily to purchase...

Facial recognition is coming, but it will simply provide yet another obstacle

City are trying to run before they can walk and in the space of 2-3 seasons we've literally gone from complaining about the length of time spent waiting on the ticket hotline, to not really having a hotline, when we've got so many supporters still relying on one-to-one communication, and whilst maybe relatively techno savvy are struggling to navigate the ticket buying process?

Also, in business we used to joke that new customers were treated better than existing customers, but with City it's almost the other way round.

You can buy a match membership for £35 or a cityzen membership for £25, but what if you're a local family who just fancy attending a football match, and aren't really interested in getting a free scarf or whatever benefits you get for your membership fee?

I appreciate that you were trying to be helpful, but yesterday you suggested to somebody that it would only take two minutes to obtain a free supporter ID

I might have misunderstood, but if that's the case (and I was too thick to find it) then the information should be prominent on the membership page.

I don’t know how to crop replies to include the bit I want to reply to, but that paragraph about the memberships scheme is spot on.

It should be where you don’t need one. If you fancy going to a game you shoukd be able to buy a ticket/tickets and that’s that. The stadia would be far more full, oh and at the right price as well.

There were posts on another thread about Liverpool and their tickets. I’m sure it said it’s £30 in the most new stand, regardless if it’s a so called category A game or v Bournemouth. If we had that, instead of the ridiculous prices on offer, plenty more would go.

The idea of making it easier for fans to share season tickets with one nominated person would help a lot I think. Most season ticket holders miss a few games for unavoidable reasons like work, health, weddings, funerals.

I think on the front page of the website about joining Citizens. The Cityzens number is less helpful this season with nearly everyone needing a paid membership. The point I was emphasising is that Blues who don’t have a supporters number create a lot of extra work for other Bkues trying to help them.

United are losing fans where I live in Lancs, mostly to LFC and local clubs. City are mopping up the rest. Liverpool are eating into their global fanbase. They are ahead of them commercially for the first time. They are not getting the younger generation and this, like it has for us, will catch up with them.

Newcastle isn't on general sale for security reasons as the club and police think there's a risk of away fans buying tickets in the home end.

I completely agree with your general point about more games going on general sale.

However for this game, if there's Geordies all over the home end we'll all be pointing fingers at the club. So it's certainly not fair for us to have a go at them when they do put the security measures in place to try and stop this.

The way to get more fans in the ground is a long campaign of cheap tickets for every game, not just the odd one here or there.

Ok cheers.
I think I misunderstood your original point
