Seat Counters 25/26

Leeds Service Crew were coming over tonight if they could have got in the ground. I think City’s ticket restrictions have kiboshed that.

There's always been away fans in the home end but loads of City fans were whining on here. Ideas and discussion have consequence. The no. one issue for City fans last season was tourists and away fans and now these ideas have come home to roost for us.

You stop away fans buying seats in the home end by buying up the seats.
So are you buying the huge amount of seats that are on ticket websites for tonight’s game?

I don’t think city fans buying all the tickets stops that.

Just caught the tram to the Etihad and the first supporters we encountered were two New Yorkers who had only arrived in Manchester this morning and are watching Chelsea v West Ham on Saturday

Sounds about right for a CL night

I wonder if they met the 3 game criteria required to purchase a ticket tonight!

City fans whining about away fans in the home end have made this into a problem game for those who are going

"Existing Cityzens Matchday and Junior Members (as of Wed 27th Aug 2025) who have purchased 3+ home fixtures at the Etihad Stadium."

This means that if seasoncard holders no show, only a limited number of match day fans can go.
If you don't have 3+ games history then you can't be seen as a regular match-going fan.

Yes I know that but if you don't fill the ground with your own fans, then the visitors will find a way to fill it for you

As people have spelled out above, there were easy solutions to this but our Ticket Office is useless.

I think it's also fair to say that we have a big problem with seasoncard holders not going to European and Cup games. The club should know this. So they have to think about ways around it, but they don't. I don't blame them. I live in Manchester. I don't have to pay for travel, or get time off work etc.

We might always be successful, and then it will be really difficult to add new layers of fans to City. We've wasted 15 years of success by chasing £.

It's astonishing that the club don't understand this problem. I know they don't because see the Salford ticket pricing. And we have a new stand to fill.

Suddenly the tourists have vanished have they? Very convenient. Perhaps they were never there or were just local fans from different communities that some ignorant blues thought were aliens.
You come out with this bollocks all the time… and you’re plainly wrong.

Normal people have a chat with the people who sit next to them and over the years I’ve had Septics, Frogs, Germans, South Americans, Uzbeks etc. etc. etc. next to me. Sometimes they don’t speak a word of English and don’t know what I’m saying, some of those you can tell are City fans as they’ve got behind the team and celebrated our goals. A lot of them try to avoid conversation because they are clearly away fans and don’t want to get sussed, sometimes they openly admit they’re away fans and are sound (a Bayern fan once gave me a Bayern pin badge and was proper sound).

Quite a few times, me or people around me have shuffled around seats so a couples of daytrippers who got tickets near-ish each other but on different rows could sit together. One was a German/Autrian/Swiss (guessing at the accent, it wasn’t me that directly chatted to them that time) Dad+Son, and recently it was a couple from SKorea.

Even when they don’t sit next to you, you can spot a daytripper a fucking mile off.
