Seat Counters 25/26

Thanks Marvin. I try to be positive about football because I have a lot of negative things going on in the rest of my life. I understand why people are frustrated at ticketing and transport but i think there is a malaise in the whole country. I was on a packed bus with Spurs fans on Sunday night. They had just seen a great match but most of them were drenched from the rain. I spoke to some and all they wanted to talk about was "escaping from London" which they described as "a shithole." They were also moaning about tourist fans and daytrippers! These were local working class Spurs fans who lived in Edmonton (where I stayed overnight). To be fair the area is desperately impoverished (as bad as anywhere in Manchester). But, for me, football is an escape so I try to be upbeat.
I think there is a malaise generally across Europe with life being hard and expensive and football is such an escapism from it all at the moment

Spot-on. That's why I try hard to remain positive about football. It has always been an escape from reality. That's how it started. It is arguably the only positive thing about the UK at the moment. I go to a lot of away matches to areas which are not on the tourist maps. I think many people would be shocked to see how bad things are in some parts of the UK.

I think that's a fantastic crowd considering how many home games we've had and the fact it's priced a little higher than it could have been (don't think the price is too bad personally). Add in that we're 2-0 up from the first leg and you'd take that for a midweek league cup semi final.

Whilst some will point to the fact it's circa 7k down on current capacity and therefore 13-14k down on the expanded capacity, I'm hopeful economies of scale will mean they can drop the price a little for an equivalent game next season and bring in more fans.

Despite my prediction this was going to be a lower crowd than gala, looks like a decent crowd after all.
Going forward, get rid of tik transfer restrictions, do deals for those in cup schemes including ticket bundles and extra 100 loyalty points per game attended, season tiks for families and get rid of half and halves!
Hopefully, a great game awaits and another trip to wemberlee! come on citeh!!

If we get to 47,000 it will be our eighth highest ever attendance in the League Cup and higher than most recent League Cup semi-finals.

The ground rarely if ever rocks, the atmosphere is generally abysmal bar the few in the south stand.
Here’s a post by a Wolves fan from just last May:

We’ve had the Etihad rocking dozens of times over the years. This season has been the worst it’s been since the Frank Clarke season though. Even in that shit season with Pearce, we used to chant our old ‘worst support we’ve ever seen’ song at loads of visiting fans.

That was the Friday night game, we were all pissed in SS3, I was hammered by kick off as went out straight from work mid afternoon.

Worked a treat.

Great work fella.

What could have been, we’d be knocking on close to a sell out if we’d have priced it the same as Newcastle did.

Listen I always give the club praise when they do something right.

Just recently, I gave them credit for their pricing vs Exeter. I'm also one of the only people on here defending their decision to require purchase history for tomorrow's game.

There are lots of people on here who disagree with me, and you're absolutely welcome to debate me on anything I've ever posted. I don't ever consider it to be personal.

But please don't just tell me to shut up.
You should know him by now.
You won’t get a reasoned discussion with him, no matter how hard you try.
He’ll just tell you to shut up, you are ungrateful, and he will start being abusive, etc.
You are wasting your time.
Don’t worry, you aren’t the only forum member who thinks like you do, even when City do cheap cup match tickets prices, and you, me and other forum members rightly give City credit for doing that.
