Seat Counters 25/26

I’m the same. 68 years old but have to drive as my wife is at home with stage 4 cancer. My only outlet is City games when I can get a family member to sit with her but the parking situation is ridiculous. I couldn’t even get parked anywhere for the Leeds home game and gave up and drove home. Trying to pre book parking is almost impossible with sites saying sold out whenever I try!
I was oblivious to the permit area being extended as I don’t normally drive. Had to take the risk of a fine and chance it luckily I got away with it but I wouldn’t drive again. Probably cause me to miss 50% midweeks from now on given that.

The elite seat counters on here will be lining up in the paddock once the criteria pops on the website and the date is known when they go on sale.

The real fun comes when only Club Wembley blocks are left and these are selling at the rate of 1 seat every 3 hours, and any returns pop up in level 1 and 5 only to then disappear almost as quickly.

How many will the club allocate to hangers on? Will we have the West (better) or the East (worse) side of the stadium? Always great fun.
Prefer the west gor many reasons
The main one being no sun in your face obviously if you choose the correct seats.

it's a no brainer, it will still get to everyone who wants one while kick starting sales early. The schemes offer very little reward other than a token fiver, this would make far more sense and allow people to make plans early, we will end up with 36000 tickets so lets get on with selling the bloody things

You just know we won’t.

Day 1 - Cup Scheme members with 25000 points
Day 2 Cup scheme members with 20,000 points

Etc etc etc.

All that is needed is

Day 1/2 - Cup Scheme members
Day 3/4 - ST holders
Day 5 onwards - Members
Day 7 - extra tickets for any of the above.

It will drag on for weeks, they will block out bits then put them on sale, players returns will land a week before.

It’s the same every time.

I actually think plenty of ST holders will give this a miss and there will be loads available to members.

i agree, it will be painful, like it always is, why not open the fucker up, get them sold, and if people want them, source them from club wembley etc, none of this drip feed bullshit

I think it's a load of factors repeatedly adding up to a larger number.

1. Higher ticket prices have slowly turned away a load of otherwise die-hard fans
2. Ticket policies have made it increasingly difficult to just pass your ticket onto a mate if you can't go
3. We play more home games than any team outside London and it adds up financially, so people pick and choose
4. Travel options to and from the ground aren't up to standard for quickly moving 50,000 people
5. Season ticket holders not coming to cup games and not selling their ticket back to City
6. Large batches of seats being withheld by City and sold to tourists on Viagogo
7. City fans saving their money for bigger games than (what was essentially) a dead rubber before another Wembley trip
8. At least 4-5,000 are generally missing from midweek night games in the cup (always been this way)

If each of the items in the list affect, say, 1,000 people, then you're gonna be down at 44,000 anyway.
On point 8, I think it´s a lot more than 4-5,000 who are generally missing. Citys TO presented data to City Matters last season reporting the numbers. I cant find the report now but I think they said that 50% of City seasoncard holders do not go to Champions League games. Very roughly that will be > 15,000 fans. I am a bit uncertain about this. If anyone knows better, please correct me.

It sounds likely. Just wonder where the 35,259 came from - or perhaps the club made a miscalculation.
Or the BBC made it up and everyone lifted it. I am sure 40,800 is correct. The bottom two tiers were almost full and they hold 34,000. The top tiers were half full. Newcastle was a bit higher because of their fans in the top of the South stand. Both over 40,000 which is not that bad.

I am very disappointed that this thread has diverted from maths into angst. I am not a seat counter by faith but I need holy intervention. Please save me, you holy seat Counters.

They did it vs Leipzig in the CL a few years ago. City and the Mail said 45,000 and they came out with 38,000 and loads of twats ran with it online.
Also worth noting with this game that Leipzig only brought about 30 fans yet they had all 3 tiers of the away end empty rather than giving it back to us.

Can we get back to seat counting please.
I make it there are 37,000 left
After they have taken out the corporate, supporters clubs and players allocation there will be 35,000 left.
Our global ticket agency partners will then bring it down to 15,383.
Tickets will only be available to fans with previous attendance at Wembley The initial starting point is 28 lowering to 5, the remaing 14,904 will go on open sale 3 days before the game.

Just sayin'
