Seat Counters 25/26

On the OS there are ticket transfer options to sell to the club, to transfer to one of 3 named people, and to City in the Community.

A late transfer option to another any City fan would be a good and useful option if you couldn't go at the last minute via Apple or Android into their mobile phone wallets.
But what if that City fan turns out to not be a City fan and infact a fan of the opposition? One who has signed up and got a supporter number?

I know for most games that is unlikely but it is something that City have to consider too.

I'm not saying it is right or wrong, but there are two sides of the coin.....

Bloke next to me was on holiday, tried to transfer his ticket but couldn't as he hadn't set people up on the friends and family, so that was an empty seat. This guy is late 50s I reckon so isnt gonna be savvy with the friends and family stuff and whatever other hoops city make us jump through to transfer the tickets we've bought and paid for to our friends.

Mate behind had a similar issue and when another mate we sit with turned up (he was late cos stuck in traffic) he said a mate of his had a similar issue. So thats 3 empty seats because of the fucking about with membership/friends and family etc

Big Steve called this out on his YouTube this week, saying how old school blues wont jump through the hoops city want us to, he's right, but even some of the younger ones wont or cba doing it.

I'd guess there were about 44k there last night myself but could be wrong. Seemed to be lots of students about when I was walking in but thay was just my personal experience and I didnt hang about the stadium long before (just went straight in).

At least we didnt get the light shows with people's fone in the 3rd tier so presumably not many tickets went to school kids
The stadium filled up late because of traffic chaos. About 10 minutes in it was pretty full. I would say about 50,000. In any case City sold virtually all the tickets. The empty seats were no shows from the returns on the exchange.

Defo filled up after kick off. Was like a ghost town in 015 at kick off but suddenly filled up so must of been a lot of late arrivers. Saying that, i reckon out of the 11 or 12 season ticket holders around me yesterday i know, only about 4 were there.

It was a nightmare getting there. I set off to drive from Preston but the M61 was gridlock so I abandoned the car at Horwich and got the train in. Totally drenched afterwards. People have no idea how hard midweek matches have become. The game was worth the effort though.

100%. That walk back to Picadilly last night was miserable and i couldn't of been any wetter. I've given up driving from Preston as its so unpredictable and a miserable experience. Missed kick offs on more than one occasion due to the M61/60 being gridlocked and then Regent Road is always carnage. Makes midweek games a real slog at times in the worst of winter.

Horwich Parkway was a great compromise last night. Free parking and you avoid the M60 shambles. It takes 30 minutes to get there by car but at least 1 hr 30 mins from there to the ground. The train was full both ways and a lot of City fans from the North come that way now.

There were about 1200 unsold seats showing last night after the exchange returns were taken off sale so it was a bit of both - plenty of empty seats all together in the upper echelons of the East and West stand 3rd tiers which backs up what I was saying all along that most of those seats were returns from 3rd party ticketing partners that didn't sell when they were made available to regular fans.

That said, the ground was still more full than I expected it to be. It was looking very sparse 5 minutes before kick-off but as you say that was clearly down to traffic issues, etc.

That's one of the wettest I've been after a match. My particular highlight whilst trudging back to Piccadilly, was stepping on an uneven paving flag thus soaking my feet in cold, shitty water. Result made up for it though.

Salford game. CB3 has been taken off sale for now.

Level 3 (East Stand only) - 1707
Level 2 - 474
Level 1 - 311

I'm not totally convinced that's all that there is remaining in Levels 1 and 2 as some of the available blocks in those levels have hundreds of tickets in them. Block 113 has over 300 for sale for example, so they might be trying to fill those blocks as much as possible at the expense of those blocks that don't have too many seats left

The infrastructure of our Motorways and connecting arterial roads in the North West are not fit for purpose. The club should lay on free helicopter flights from various locations around the country. Sorted!

It already looks like a very good crowd for an FA Cup tie against a lower league team though. Well over 40,000.

Crowd was decent last night and particularly given the awful weather and, as you say, traffic chaos. Took me nearly 2 hours from the Scouse end of the M62 at Broad Green to the start of the Ashton Old Road. Stop/Start from way back before the Salford Royal and missed the first 5 mins as a result.
Not that that will stop the usual “biG cLuB” divs from sneering…..

The club could do a lot to help near the ground though. They could put pressure on the council to improve the parking, They could provide traffic marshalls and a proper taxi rank. Sheikh Mansour and CFG must be the biggest investors in Manchester. They have the clout to make things happen. Burnham has done nothing to help. He is too busy looking for sound bites. The transport is a disgrace.

I concur the M61 and M60 is a mare at times, I drive from Chorley but always avoid going through town and come of the M60 at Broadway and go through Newton Heath and park on Briscoe lane. It’s a longer route but always quicker.

I worked in Chorley living in Middleton if I heard the M61/M60 had issues. I went up to the M65 across the Grane Road to the M66 down the M66 and off at Junction 20. Turn right into Rochdale Road until Queens Road turn left to the Etihad.

Away fans in the home end has happened since the dawn of time. People need to get over it happening.

I was too late for that option. Sometimes come that way but rarely drive these days. Manchester is worse than London these days for traffic. I have lived in London three times.
