Seat Counters 25/26

The club could do a lot to help near the ground though. They could put pressure on the council to improve the parking, They could provide traffic marshalls and a proper taxi rank. Sheikh Mansour and CFG must be the biggest investors in Manchester. They have the clout to make things happen. Burnham has done nothing to help. He is too busy looking for sound bites. The transport is a disgrace.
Two of my Everton mates shared a taxi with Burnham to one of their recent home games

They couldn't wait to quote him:

"City fans are always moaning, but they don't know how lucky they are with that stadium"

I worked in Chorley living in Middleton if I heard the M61/M60 had issues. I went up to the M65 across the Grane Road to the M66 down the M66 and off at Junction 20. Turn right into Rochdale Road until Queens Road turn left to the Etihad.
Did you miss the road works at Mcvites I use the Holsworth Sq route.

Away fans in the home end has happened since the dawn of time. People need to get over it happening.
See, I completely agree with you here. As long as they keep their trap shut, there are no issues.

But so many on here have been massively bothered about it for the last few years, which is why I have thrown it out there........

Basically, the club will have heard those security concerns and moans and aimed to stop that too

This a thousand times. It seems to me that the people who get the most angry about away fans in the home end are the same ones who get the most angry about ticketing retrictions. You can't have one without the other.

I've seen the odd away fan thrown out every season since we moved to the Etihad but it's never been this problem that seems to get some people hysterical on here.

Correct. But we've both seen the reaction on here.....

And that reaction was from some of the most vocal about these ticketing issues. They can't have it both ways as the club is now focused on the security.

I think the issue with away fans in the home end seems to have really started since the Real Madrid semi final match in the treble season. Arguably the biggest home match in our history and the club decided to put the ticket on open sale to all members which meant genuine supporters with a purchase history missed out.

I agree with this completely, although back in the day we all knew to keep quiet. Nowadays people don't seem to know how to act.

I think it also annoys people when its a sold out game that they couldn't get tickets for, yet away fans are able to get tickets

It doesn’t help that (rightly or wrongly) our support at the Etihad has become a laughing stock in recent years and some away fans feel empowered to cause trouble.

i have a radical idea that may help with the lesser games and help the club with ticket transfer, if for instance a season ticket costs 800 pounds in cb level 3, then divided by 19, then the average ticket price is £42.10, which is what you would get back on the exchange, but it does nothing to actually shift tickets for mundane wednesday fixtures as it generally means they are priced too high so kills the demand so the ticket goes unsold and nobody wins. Why don't the club actually categorise season ticket games. Last night it would have made sense for the top price to be 40 quid down the side, and 30 behind the nets, so rather than expecting 42 pounds back last night with the 800 pound example, why not expect 30 back because of the nature of the game, but the flip side to this is when it's a prime game then the return is more than 42 pounds, ie 50 quid and the club sell for 60, the club could easily categorise the games at the start of the season and the value would still be divisible to the value of your season ticket, but would give the club and the seller more flexibility. I hope that makes a modicum of sense, but there is no logic a season ticket exchange having the same value when certain games have much more or much less demand.

Spot on. Doesn't bother me as much as others even though technically it shouldn't happen. Trap shut and sit on their hands for 90 odd mins.

I didn’t think there were as many empty seats as Brighton, but most of them were in the family stand and 3rd tiers.

We’ve just beaten Liverpool and we’re in 3 points of Arsenal. It should be sold out really and full. I know about all the issues (transport, traffic..) as well
Do you have a bottomless pit of money available for football ?
Football for the majority is now a treat as and when they can afford it.

I’d genuinely rather not go, than have to go through that. Did it at liverpool for the 3-2 George Weah game and hated every second and swore I’d never do it again. Would rather watch on tv 100 times out of 100 given that choice.

But I do agree totally with your post, that’s what they should do if they make that choice.

Thanks fook for the tourists in my block yesterday or it would have been half empty.!
I dont think you see the bigger issue at play.

Just like fans of other clubs like to sneer at city for empty seats , whilst everton and spurs, just this week, in there shiny new stadiums, are having the same issues, they dont ask “why?”

Just quick to criticise

Yes, it's not for me either. I go in the family stand for all cup games and it seems a bit more prevalent there. Seen a few oppo fans get a slap whilst being escorted out after being identified.

Burnham is a total chancer. He has done fuck all for City. Not once has he defended us in public. I don’t think he has even met our owner even though he is the biggest investor in Greater Manchester. I know for a fact he ignored pleas to improve the transport round the Etihad well before the Co-op live opened.

Yeah, I mean if you can do what’s required and still get enjoyment from it, fair enough, but not me. Each to their own.

No I do something about it. When I hear spare tickets are going to waste I pass them on to Blues wanting to go to the game.

I don’t cheer on videos of people boasting about leaving empty seats to go to waste.
