Seat Counters 25/26

Couldnt agree more with your statement about all 3000 going to actual blues.

Couldnt disagree more with your idea of a ballot.

We get the exact same conversations on here year after year, 'big' games come round and people without the required amount of loyalty (hate that word) points start moaning they cant get tickets, there have been at least 10 games that have gone to pretty much general sale this season which I can almost guarantee the people with the most points would have been at.

I know in your previous post you mentioned his boys, looking through his post history his lads are at least 14 and 29, my kids are 15 and 21 youngest has over 15k points and the lad is over 20k, none of them can get united Liverpool Leeds Burnley but shit happens, I know how lucky I am to have been able to afford to take them over the years and still am but there's still no way id advocate a ballot just on the off chance
The main issue is that away allocations are too small because greedy clubs don’t like £30 tickets. We used to take minimum 6000 to lots of away games. We get 3000 out of 75,000 at the swamp. A total joke.

Very few people can afford to attend every away match. I went to Brighton, Newcastle, but not Anfield. So what.
My point is that this season there've been many unattractive away games that have struggled, and sometimes failed, to sell out.

The system should be rewarding the fans who made the effort to attend these unattractive games.

Correct me if I am wrong, haven’t we got a history of people buying every single away ticket to claim the points and then selling them on? That might be a myth but it’s been a complaint for 15 years among those who just miss out on the bigger games.

I get your point, but I’m only talking a small amount of people getting ballot. I’ve done United away, Liverpool away etc. via a supporters club in the past and I’m nowhere near 20k points. I’ve had a season ticket 25 years but do the odd cup game and odd away here and there.

I don’t deserve a United ticket, no complaints for myself, I don’t try these days. But I’ve managed to get one before being pally with the supporters club manager. I would remove that and remove tourists/3rd parties getting them, increase the number going to points and have a small number in a ballot.

Do you not agree with that or would you have all 3,000 going to loyalty points? (Using 3k as a yard stick for the sake of our debate)

I'm almost certain people did that years ago, although I think loyalty points were stopped for away games 6 or 7 years ago now, everyone complains about missing out on the biggest games its groundhog day, and whilst this probably goes against the point I made previously ive also secured tickets for 'bigger' games through people I know favour for a favour etc.

I don't really have any irons in the fire regarding supporters clubs, I do however think they've earned the right to get access to tickets through taking tickets for years and years when we didnt sell out. Most, if not all, supporters clubs receive a miniscule amount of tickets nowadays anyway.

I'd keep the 18/25 and supporters clubs then stick the rest to loyalty points, I do think we're actually agreeing here I just cannot get my head round the idea of a ballot, especially having spoken to mates who are reds who apply for every away game and very rarely get pulled out of their ballot

Anyway 1429 left for Liverpool

You had not interest in going aways in the past hence your 9k points so you reap what you sew.

That's a bit unfair, a bit like most stuff you spout, circumstances change in peoples lives for various reasons, so the reap what you sow bollocks is exactly that, bollocks.

He's right, fucking same old same old, at £30 a pop, half wouldn't be going if it was double or more, fuck me was paying more than £30 for aways at Bolton Wigan and Blackburn 25 years ago ffs.

Oh and the points system at City is fucking shambolic, and you know it is

bit unfair to say you reap what you sow, you don't know the guys circumstances. might have had kids, got a job abroad etc etc which stopped him doing as many away games as say a young single bloke.

I don’t want to take away from general seat counting, I think we pretty much agree other than that I’d have a small number of tickets in a ballot over supporters clubs… and we both agree that no tickets should ever go to 3rd parties for tourist sales.

Liverpool will be sold out this time next week, back on topic, selling several hundred a day.

I'm not sure it on track for a sell out as it stands because sales are slowing noiticeably. I think they should release sales to extra tickets for season ticket holders.

I think you’re right now they’re adding some back on. I sent that when we’d had a few hundred go but then several hundred have reappeared. Could be similar to Madrid where it drip feeds down and then hopefully they open more tickets up as you suggest, just getting over the line.

They may not want to take any chances with potential trouble, should the tickets get into the wrong hands.
Difficult one for the club, dammed if they do dammed if they don't.
But it doesn't stop them selling offsite hospitality + a GA Ticket through Viagogo to anyone who want one, no questions asked.

The promotion game at Blackburn was £15 lower tier Darwen End in 2000, the season before at Wigan was £7.50 on the the Shevington End Terrace for adults in the league match for City's away allocation.

Check your stubs, as if.

He states he has had a season ticket for 44 years and shared his details previously, but got interested in away tickets on here in 2023.
He clearly said “my boys”, which suggests they might not have had the opportunity to go in the past, depending on age. A better system would be a combination of loyalty points and a ballot.
He has said it enough times about himself too.

Nothing hypothetical with you is there, every single subject is played with the straightest of bats

Check stubs as if, you’re a right comedian you, I’ve been on plenty lad including Springfield Park

Football forum mainly full of blues this, banter and a laugh, then there’s you that comes along and dampens all spirits.

Reap what you sow is the best you’ve come out with shows what you really are

Ok so you say I have no interest, it’s great when people think they know you but don’t!
I have been to many away grounds over the years, too many to list. I started watching City when I was 7 and was lucky that my first experience of Wembley was 1974 albeit we lost. I have had a season ticket for most of my life although there have been periods were I couldn’t afford one due to family commitments so have missed having one for about 5 years in all that time. If I hadn’t then I would have been up there with enough points. We have 4 season tickets and I’m loathe to spend a further £100 a ticket for away matches thro touts. I’m fortunate to get away tickets through my local supporters club but that’s only about once a season if I’m lucky.
So yeah, I am in favour of a ballot which will give me chance to take my boys to more away games. I’m also happy for you to pass them over as well!

Did they manage to get tickets for Swansea ,both Newcastle cup matches and Huddersfield when tickets were easily available to basically everyone who wanted one,or is it the usual can’t get a ticket for the swamp, klanfield etc.
No I didn’t
My lad went to both all 3 Newcastle games (pl game thro a tout) couldn’t get any for Huddersfield and didn’t try for Swansea cos we were away. Never bothered with the swamp cos can’t afford the prices, was always in the Liverpool end for the klanfield game until my friend passed away.
My other lad (school age) has sadly only been to Wembley lots of times and charity shield when it was at Leicester. Believe me he wants to go to more. No problem you pm me to offer away tickets.
I am 100% for a ballot
