Seat Counters 25/26

I was at this game with my grandad (who used to take me to games and got me properly into following City).

Looks like the answer to my question was that very game. Must be why my memories of it are so strong.

City have the fastest growing fan base on the planet.
Arsenal fans have just been crowing about have 20m Social Media interactions after they wrestled their way to winning the Premiership.
One even posted a picture of City having 1m in the same period, except it was a loan Spanish site.
Our Social Media interactions are mind blowing.
You’ll also notice that there’s been an explosion of Pep related Social Media stuff over the last week, culminating yesterday in literally 9 out of 10 posts being about Pep, even Sky Sports have being showing a plethora of City and Pep moments, most a great watch.
Enjoy tomorrow boys and girls, make it loud and Special.

It needs to sell now they’re announcing it as the Guardiola stand. It’s going to be all over the news and Pep will be presented with it.

Makes the decision to charge £56 for adults absolutely insane from a PR, how it’ll make Guardiola feel, perspective.

Should have just got it filled no matter what. As you say, hopefully it will now.
Any tickets left?

:-) :-)

Yet another person who's simply incapable of seeing the bigger picture.

You don’t need to be an expert in consumer behaviour to understand that struggling to sell out a stadium will negatively affect future demand, and that that, in turn, can negatively affect the club’s growth and global perception.
The new seats sold very quickly.

Out of context a little but I wonder how a Middlesbrough seat count went that last couple of days?

They sold out yesterday. I doubt even our most experienced seat counters would have been able to keep pace with the breathless number of sales in such a short time period.

Did you not read I said fanbase growth, that includes attendance growth. It is growing.
In 2006 the average was 39000 , noe ovet50000 the truth hurts.
That is why we have built a 7000 extension.

You continually use confirmation bias, even when it is totally wrong.

You stated clearly that the directors were shit and that they would not sell the tickets.

You wanted them to FAIL.

But you were wrong, you did not admit it, you misinterpreted my words to try and seek justification for your gross error.

Every ground even the ones that are not reported have empty seats. Out of 50000 people ,some will be ill, called to work, sick children, transport problems. Every ground.
Of course he didn’t “want them to fall”. Grow up. His point it totally valid: The match going fanbase is not growing like it should. He’s absolutely right. West Ham and spurs are getting 10,000 more than City every single week, and they have won nothing in decades. Everton’s attendances have caught ours and the same applies to them. We are the most successful team in England yet at least half of our games this season have not sold out and the attendance figures we give out don’t reflect the seat exchange tickets which don’t resell.

There are a number of reasons for this, including ticket restrictions and pricing but there is also a poor perception amongst some of the match day experience at the Etihad. With a 60K stadium next season this is going to become obvious unless the club do something about it. And it doesn’t look like they are doing.

In 2002, our crowds were 34,000 at Maine Rd. On Sunday there will be 60,000 at City.

It's relatively easy to fill the stadium in a successful era through varying the ticket price, but the pre-condition is a successful team. Pep guaranteed that, but now City are vulnerable.

City did not have the capacity to increase our season ticket holder base, now we will add 4,000. I believe that the season ticket prices in the North and South stand are low relative to most clubs. Match-day prices are tuned to fill the remaining seats.

The atmosphere at City is variable. Some games it is very flat, at other games it has been brilliant. The expanded North Stand should help.

No I didn't want them to fail! There was definitely a time yesterday where I thought we might not sell out, and I was absolutely furious about this and voiced it. However once the pep announcement came out, and they opened the criteria up we sold out, which I'm glad about.

I truly believe we've got a big enough fanbase in greater Manchester to fill a 65,000 seat stadium week in week out. But we've got to get as many people as possible into the habit of going, and I worry that the current strategy isn't enough to achieve this.

In terms of attendance growth, we peaked after the treble season. Things have been slowly on the decline since then. Anybody who pays close attention to this thread will tell you the exact same thing.

People are skint, really skint so its no suprise things like football, eating out etc gets knocked on the head !

Go back in this thread. They went on sale at 3pm and nobody expected them to make it to 3:15.

This is one of the most attractive fixtures of the season. Sales were at an absolute stand still with 2,500 left until the pep announcement was enough to shift the rest.

They've sold out now and that's what matters, but this should be a subtle warning sign to the club that selling this new stand next season will be a slog most games

I agree. And my opinion is that the club should see this and bring the prices well down, in order to preserve as much of our local fanbase as possible.

I know they're bringing them down a bit for some games next season, but I'd have liked to see something more radical

Serious question….need 2 adult tickets and can’t use Ticket Exchange through lack of membership….has any used stubhub and can comment on its reliability or suggest any alternatives…please.
