Self-employed & Coronavirus

Well there it is .....

without a support package in place for the Self Employed the Tories close parliament and go home for a month on more than their usual take home pay (their pay rise kicks in on April 1st)

Simply not good enough from the Government who are literally hiding behind the word "complexities" on this issue.

Just pay 80% of the national minimum wage ffs.

If you're still working ,I am as well.
We supply.
My mate delivers for a company that supplies sand & aggregate ect Said they’ve never been as busy . Seems people are doing jobs at home with they’re spare time .Ive got loads of planned jobs to do on the house but not spending anything while I’m not earning in work ( self Employed)

Not normally into conspiracy theories and all that. But things being done and not being done aren't helping me forming any rational thoughts to dispel those fears. It's like the country through Westminster has gone into a theatrical lock down of sorts, while just leaving enough loopholes and vagueness to allow this virus to trickle through to the vulnerable. Of course me being self employed may cloud my judgement and the worry of getting kicked out of the house and not putting food on the table may lead me to rash conclusions. Not easy keeping a level head. Remember saying to mates socialising in January. " if it comes here I'm sure we will simply ring fence every vulnerable person (about 12 million ) and fully isolate them, then develop bucket loads of test kits playing particular attention to tests that prove people have had it.

March is often the busiest month in the aggregate/roadstone business.
I'm in that field myself.

Aggs sales tapered of somewhat this last week or so though.

Still supplying a lot of road surfacing material which kind of makes sense because of the lower traffic volume, economically at least.

Morally however...hmmm.

Best off sitting out in the sun in the garden,if you have one,and enjoy a beer.

Good luck pal, hopefully the govt will come up with something concrete to support the self employed.

Looks like we are collateral damage
Or a job that the big organisations will loose as competition or hoover up. Loosing vulnerable people and self employed jobs will make the shit loaded more shit loaded. Getting more of a bad feeling about this virus every day. Loosing the will to be level headed.
