The only thing that I have against him lately is that he has no emotionon the pitch like after he scored at camp nou he should have been thrilled because how many people in the premier league can say they have scored there I think if anyone else had scored that goal their celebration would have been a lot more joyous with a smile on there face not a frown

yes he didn't smile enough get rid of him now, ridiculous behaviour from a pro footballer not to continually smile, frowners out

He used to play for Atletico Madrid before moving to City. So playing in Bernabeu or Camp Nou may not be the new wonder of the world in his opinion, I think.

Sell Petrov? SELL PETROV???????

Sell Petrov?

Are you mad????

In any City team of mine, the first three names on the teamsheet would be Given, Ireland and PETROV!

How can anyone forget his form before injury, when he was often our only means of attack and was providing unstoppable, hard, low, crosses coming in behind their defence and curling out into the feet of our forwards. Goal after goal we had that way!

If he is unhappy, perhaps it's because he isn't given preference over a player who is far less effective (Robinho).

We should treasure him and use him as he - and we - deserve.

HALLEH_FUCKING_LUJHAH!!!

At last people thankfully with memories a little bit longer than one of Ken Dodds diddy-mens cock's...
PETROV is our BEST left winger (yes inlcluding Robinho, who by the way I think we should play behind the front two instead). Just think back to pre- Robinho and honestly ask yourself where our goals came from...either he scored them or he set them up with those quality runs down the left.
Jesus Christ, because the man doesnt smile or w*nk off when he scores at the Nou Camp, you want him out. I think its cultural- look at Berbatov, hes a miserable c*nt too. As long as he keeps scoring/setting up he deserves his place in the team- until then fellow blues get the FUCK off his case

Shall we keep Benjani because he scored in the Derby?
''When he was often our only means of attack'' - Yes, i do remember, but i also remember than we have signed, Tevez, Robinho, Adebayor, Santa Cruz, and SWP, since then.

''If he is unhappy, perhaps it's because he isn't given preference over a player who is far less effective (Robinho).'' - Robinho is far less effective? He scored 14 last season, more than Petrov did in the previous season. And i am pretty sure he would have a similar amount of assists, so less effective? Far off.

You could say Robinho doesn't really get back, and does not get stuck in. But Petrov is just as bad, if not worse.

I'd keep Petrov, but he needs to learn he has been out for a season, and wants to be put straight in the team? No, you work for your place and get on with it like everyone else.

Good post. Only thing I'd add is that if he wants to go we should sell him.

Fair point! He would have got a hatrick on Saturday. Robbie wouldn't have scored in a barrel full of fanny.

I hope Petrov gets a start midweek.

Petrov is not half the player Robbie is, still a good squadplayer, so I hope he will stay.

i agree %100 get rid whilst he is still worth a couple of quid he is lazy if he loses the ball he cant be bothered to run after it to get it back he just stops dead would be nice to see Wesley Sneijder running down the wing instead of petrov any day and with him being availible bargin !!!!
think another defender and maybe another right winger to cover SWP if he gets injured weiss still has alot to learn before he is a defo starting 11 he looks promising tho !!!!

He didnt look arsed when he was warming up yesterday on the touchline, I was about 20 yards away. The thing with Petrov is he'll run down and cross and he can score goals, but he cant cut in to create something new, and if you stop his left foot agility, he's useless, too one dimensional imo.

true he is too predictable at times any body think that Wesley Sneijder would come as real want to sell him

He's stated numerous times recently that he doesn't want to leave and if he goes anywhere, it'll be Inter.

I thought this guy was ambitious and willing to be part of the new revolution, but he has officially confirmed what a sulker he really is. This guy ain't willing to work hard and fight for a place, he needs to leave ASAP, as there are trouble brewing with him still in the squad. We never know what tantrums he's going to throw. Petrov is history at this club, and I say that it could be a blessing in disguise, as it leaves room for Weiss if he is willing to play on the left wing which I think he could do perfectly well. With Bellamy still going strong, we have 7 players for the 3 positions up front, which should be sufficient. I'd say we get one more utility magic central midfielder and a central defender and that's it. No point in replacing Petrov. What do you guys think?

Its not Petrovs fault he is better than Robinho but cant get a game. Petrov does'nt fuck about with silly step overs, he just runs past people like left wingers are supposed to do. Weiss is not a left winger, how could he fill in for Petrov.

Both poor going back... Thats sorted.

Attacking wise... Look up who has the better stats (Robinho last season or Petrov the previous) and say who is better, because it would see the stats (Facts) would say otherwise.

Meh, Petrov'll be out the door anyway if Robben or Riquelme come in, he'll be useless, think about it, Robben, Robinho and Riquelme are players that can use both feet and dont run out of ideas when they cant use the primary foot.
