Sergio Agüero | Manchester City's All Time Top Goalscorer

I think he's easily the best.

He was the final piece of the puzzle for us to win the league and truly become one of the biggest clubs. He is our global icon, our biggest superstar. Anywhere you go in the world, the player people most associate us with is him. 93:20 doesn't happen without him.

Don't get me wrong - you've named some legends of this club. However, there's a reason why goal scorers are more celebrated than any other player. He could've easily gone to the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona at any point for stupid money - instead, he chose to stay with us for the long haul.

he is the player that were you to ask other fans which one of our stars do you covet most and would want at your club it would be Sergio! I remember thinking when he scored his second goal against Swansea after coming on as sub we finally had a player I'd been waiting decades for!

I agree with this completely. As an Indian, I have seen almost all the city supporters in India (and trust me there are loads of them irrespective of what the Rags and Dippers brigade will tell you) wearing the "Kun" shirt. Even in the US, most city supporters (and even non-city fans) like him more than anyone else in our team. He is our trump card and has been for a while in terms of global reach.

Because of his poor record at the bindippers do you play him or Jesus ?

He has had a lot of poor games at Anfield, you're right but he still starts for me. He had a great game against Southampton and I think Jesus is better off the bench than Aguero too so if we need someone to come on, Jesus is a better option.

Metal shield is on, so let's go...

Kun needs 10 chances to score one these days. I don't care about 9 scored already, with the amount of chances created for him, it's very expected and several players in much weaker teams have similar numbers.

We need top striker next year as Jesus is not great finisher and brings very weak competition and answer to Aguero's periods of bad scoring form.

We're missing way too many top chances. With the amount of them created, we can beat most of the sides, but when big games come, it becomes a big problem.

It's interesting to look at the stats.

Last Season
% Shots on Target / % Shots scored
Aguero 63% / 17.8%
Salah 71% / 16%
Kane 69% / 16.7%
Aubameyang 66% / 23.4%
Mane 61% / 25.2%
Vardy 63% / 22.8%
Sterling 79% / 22%
Firmino 71% / 16%
Jesus 72% / 16.3%

This Season
% Shots on Target / % Shots scored
Aguero 55% / 22.5%
Salah 78% / 15%
Kane 57% / 20%
Aubameyang 75% / 25%
Mane 54% / 25%
Vardy 72% / 44%
Sterling 70% / 18.9%
Firmino 76% / 8.1%
Abraham 68% / 26.3%
Jesus 63% / 11%

Obviously this doesn't tell you the whole story. For a start, the players with very good shooting accuracy tend to have fewer shots, suggesting that perhaps they only shoot in particular situations, whereas the more prolific goalscorers are more likely to shoot in difficult circumstances. It also doesn't take into account blocked shots, so a player blasting it on target into a crowd of players is counted the same as someone deftly lifting it over the keeper. And obviously there haven't been many games this season to give an accurate comparison, but it does look like all of our goalscorers are performing worse in front of goal than last season purely in terms of shooting accuracy, but Aguero is actually scoring more often from his shots. Vardy has been one of the most clinical strikers in the league for a while now, but this may be due to the sort of goals he scores, where he's far more likely to clean through on goal than someone like Aguero.

Personally I'd say that the service to Aguero hasn't exactly been great in recent weeks. There have been a few examples where he's made a great run and the ball hasn't quite been accurate enough.

Our goals are spread out across the front,if every chance fell to sergio he would score tons more but they don't,we have many others scoring, the likes of steptoe is the only one who has the resposibilty of scoring in his team

Baffles me the stick sergio still gets

Coming to the end of an amazing career unfortunately, just not got that sharpness anymore. Don't think Jesus is the answer to replace him, so we should be looking for a younger striker now for the future
