An excellent article but I think it underplays the hostility of the English media to the club.

If you factor in the criminal under-rating of David Silva and Fernandinho, for example, and the refusal to give Mancini or Pelligrini the Manager of the Year award, a wider pattern starts to emerge that is more spiteful than negligent.
