I hate to use the rags as a guide but back in the late 90's Fergie managed to rotate Cole, Yorke, Sheringham and Ole while still winning regularly and keeping them all happy. Hell, Cole and Sheringham hated each other but still played up front together. Surely Pep can find a way to do the same without them having to leave?

Some people display all the loyalty of a cat.
In my opinion it tends to be those who support from afar and don't have the same affinity to the players as many of the match going fans.
I don't mean that derogatory and it's great that our support has become as far reaching as it has, but that's how I've always seen it on here. There are of course exceptions.
Some just love a new shiny toy and are quick to cast aside the older, used ones. In some cases it might even be the correct decision. In Sergios case it's most definitely not and I look forward to him leaving this club as our all time leading scorer and with the legendary status he deserves.

I still like you by the way. :-)

Now you mention it he looks like the real life salad fingers.

That isn't the issue though.
Aguero isn't the type of front man that fits into a Pep team, that's the problem and that's what needs addressing.

This is a big test for Pep. It's a tyical managers dilemma and he should be judged on it once it all plays out. He's not been infallible so we can't all just be rest assured that it'll be fine. There's a big risk and it's of huge importance to our future as well as to our relationship as fans with a true legend. I hope we it won't take long for us to look back and say Pep got it right.

(Btw it's hard to fathom the holier that thou towards loyalty when Yaya was almost uniformly disrespected on here during multiple episodes. We could have chosen to wait for the manager to sort it out then too)

I personally think that city will sell Sergio this summer. he gets niggling injuries but I don't think his work rate and discipline is up to pep`s requirements and a £60m plus offer I think would see us sell him and try and sign dybala

Loyalty from supporters is earned, or at least it should be. Yaya got pretty much all he deserved, because he disrespected the club, and allowed his attack dog to do so on his behalf. If that's hard for you to fathom, that's possibly because you lack empathy.

I can buy into what you are saying but given that we need not only to catch up points but also goal difference what do you think of a back three with Sterling and Sane as wingbacks and Sergio & Jesus as a strike pairing for Swansea?

I think we'd be excellent with a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 formation, but we're winning and keeping clean sheets with the current system so we have to stick with it. It would be silly for Pep to change it now and make the team try and adapt again. Sane and Sterling as wingbacks would be doing a similar job to what they do now. We'd never defend like Chelsea, where Sterling and Sane drop back to form a defensive 5. We'd encourage Sane and Sterling to track back (which they do) and press.

Pep is incredibly astute and he's already picked up key traits in opponents to expose or stifle on the pitch. He knew Palace would try and attack at pace and hit their target man so he played Kompany and Kolarov because he felt they could cope with their height and Delph provided more cover in the middle.

Against West Ham he knew they would look long for Carroll so he made sure their defence had no time to pick him out. Aguero doesn't close down the way Jesus does. He has in some games, but even when he came on the difference between the two was huge. Aguero was often static, Jesus just didn't stop moving. Pep has specifically mentioned Aguero needs to do more and can improve (said at the start of the season), I still think Aguero allows himself to be isolated. If Jesus has no support, he'll still chase and still keep moving so he makes an impact. Aguero sometimes is too happy to allow himself to be marked out of the game by being too static. He's world class of course, but we want a world class team not a world class individual and we are playing well at the moment without him in the side.

No club in the world will spend £60m on a striker who is set on returning to Argentina in 2 or 3 years time. He won't sign a contract longer than 3 years. He is unsellable.

I agree, have thought the same since Pep was announced.
However early season form of both the team and Sergio showed it can work.
I think Aguero can be used as and when he fits best.

Early season saw Nolito & Sterling doing the high press allowing Sergio to pick up the scraps.

For me there's absolutely no reason why he can't be used with 2 of Sané, Sterling & Jesus applying the insane press we've seen with Sergio picking up the scraps. On form he'd score a bucket full, just like he did early season.
Horses for courses and all that!
