Good post, and I agree, but to stay, he is going to have to adapt some aspects of his game, not for me and you, but for the manager, and despite some of things the media have said, I really think Pep wants that outcome as much as we do, and there is no obvious reason why Sergio can't do it, if he wants, as he is a very good footballer.
I hope he can too, mate.

He did say we can't be successful without him but I suppose he could have just been saying that to keep him happy for now.
I happen to think that he'll still very much be part of our squad next season and couldn't be happier.

Thats what I assumed. Press quotes. As far as I am concerned that means next to nothing. We will see.

I'll feel disappointed if he doesn't, because he can, and if he does we have a better player.

In our last 2 games our young front 3 have shown great mobility, energy, and pace, Sergio is more than capable of adding to that. Its probably been to his own detriment that he hasn't had much competition over the last 2 years, but now he has, and I hope he sees it that way, I'd really like to think he could thrive on it, but if he doesn't, and wants an easy ride, he'll go this summer. On this I trust Pep and his encouraging words, but I also trust his ruthlessness.

I think we might have a storming finish to this season, and that Everton debacle might be the catalyst.

I agree completely. This will be Aguero's decision (to a certain extent) -- assuming the decision hasn't already been made.

He isn't going anywhere. He is the face of the club just as Ronaldo and Messi are for Madrid and Barca. When people think of Manchester City the first name they associate with the club is Kun Aguero. He also happens to be the Sheikh's favorite player which is a huge factor. I remember when Sheikh Mansour directly called Yaya Toure over the cake fiasco and I can see the same assurances being applied here. Pep has consistently stated that Gabriel Jesus can play on the left and I believe that eventually Jesus/Sane/Sterling will all be rotated. Aguero is extremely important for City's champions league aspirations and Guardiola knows this. He will be at City for a long time.

Aguero is the most complete striker in the league in terms of having the combination of technique, touch, vision, movement and deadly finishing. He can be the selfless all action player that pep wants when he's motivated and chooses to be. But there-in lies the problem as he rarely brings that side out of him near enough. As I stated earlier, maybe its a lack of trust in his teammates finishing ability(who could blame him this season) or a feeling he has to do it all by himself but that's what it seems has been Pep's biggest issue with him this season. Pep knows he can be the all round player who not only scores but consistently creates chances for the team and hes proven it already this season as the video below shows where he didn't score but played a role in all three goals. He still has a good 2 years of high standard football left in him and pep knows that so I'm sure he will be a key part of the team going forward.

Let me get this straight, Press quotes saying Agüero is not going anywhere mean next to nothing, but press quotes about Aguero leaving do mean something?

I'd forgotten how well he played that game. His link up play was far better than in most other games this season.

His head seems to always be down just now when he receives the ball. There was a good example against Swansea where he tried to beat two men and had a shot blocked, Dave had made a good run outside him and you can see clearly him screaming for the ball as he was completely free. Fern had also made a run into the penalty box and was free in front of goal for the subsequent pass if Dave had been given the ball. I love what Serge has done for the club but at present I just don't see him adapting enough to the way we play. He clearly can do it as the video you posted shows, so why isn't he doing that consistently?

Just too good to let go! He, KdB and Yaya are three players who have that bit of magic in them - summat from absolutely nothing players, whether it's free kicks or the kind of goal Sergio scored v Burnley. Nothing on, and next thing the ball's in the opposition net. The look on the faces of those Burnley players tells you everything you need to know about Sergio.

Won't stop the RagDipperArseHaringeyMeedya buying a gross of crowbars to lever him out of the club with tales of TomDickAndHarryFC in the market for him.
