I think partly the problem is we’ve got so many ‘fans’ now who have only started watching us the past couple of years. Every time Aguero gets injured, it takes him a run of games to get back to full match sharpness. A lot of these Johnny come latelys would have written him off about 5 injuries ago when he had 150 less City goals to his name. No patience or loyalty with legends of this club, it knocks me sick.

I think he's miffed. rightly so, he's twice the player Jesus is at this time. Jesus is the future, we should be milking Aguero whilst we have him.

I agree wth this. Jesus is nowhere near Aguero’s level.

Kuns powers are on the wane now, have been for a while. Having to press like crazy is exasperating the problem. He's the greatest striker most of us have seen at city and quite possibly will ever see. When Jesus or anyone else has scored as many and brought as much pleasure to city fans then we can compare their attributes, until then Kun stands alone on the mountain.

Comments like this are just so, so shit.

If it were up to people like you we'd still have Yaya & Joe Hart starting every week.

Being great for the last 6 years doesn't give you immunity, that's not how football or any other sport works.

And no one thinks you're a bigger blue because you side with players over a manager, it just makes you look like a child who cares more about the sentiment around 1 player than the success of the entire club.

It’s fucking tedious. Same shite from the same posters again and again. He played well and I’d be disappointed in him if he wasn’t pissed off to be subbed in a big game.
I’m made up we’ve got Jesus playing for us but I think his impact is seriously exaggerated by some in order for them to convince themselves he’s a better option than Aguero.
Funny enough, reading you whine about other posters negative opinions about players you like, is equally tedious. Yet I am happy to read it every time.

The point being we are all tedious about what we like being tedious about.

So let the tedium reign :)

Sergio told a couple of teammates he thought he was off last summer.

He's running himself into the ground but for some reason, it just doesn't seem natural to him and the team is less cohesive in the press than when Jesus is on.

I wouldn't begrudge Sergio any decision he might want to take.

A nice few trophies this season with a good few goals more to his name and I see him going.
I think he is slightly on the down slope for us, but we play a very specific way and for me, our system will limit Sergio's time at the very top.
With us, the way we play I think he's got 18 months max.
Make a move to Spain or Italy under a different manager and he could remain elite for 3 more years.

I think this summer could be perfect for all.

He'd leave City with a heavy heart as he's still integral, still deserving of his spot. Still a lethal striker adored by the fans and his teammates.

Yet, he'd still be in a position to demand a proper contract somewhere, still being judged on his current abilities rather than his past achievements.

City have Jesus. Likely Sanchez and would have room for another flexible striker.

For me Aguero is a 30 goal a season man, with those round him adding 8-10 each. But Pep would prefer all forwards getting 20 a season each.

I think summer 18 is the natural progression for him to leave.

Was right to come off against Spurs and if he's 'miffed' about it, he needs to look at himself and increase his intensity on and off the ball. His high pressing isn't in the same league as Jesus's and when points in the game come where we need it, he'll be subbed again. He's proven before he can work harder when he wants to, but it's not consistent enough at the moment. He was lumbering around quite lazily against Spurs and it was the right call to take him off. High pressing, from the striker, is an integral part to our game.

Surely you could see why the change was made Saturday.

There's also many City fans and an incredibly talented manager that simply don't think Aguero is twice the player Jesus is. I think Jesus suits the rest of the team far better.

I think Sergio was adapting excellently till his rib injury. I think he was at his very best and suited us. He's not been at his best in weeks. When he's not flying, he reverts to his greedy individual style. We suffer.

It's a catch 22. He can't get back to what Pep wants without his confidence and goals back, but he's not playing well enough to demand starting every week till fully confident again.

You can keep saying that but you're one of the few that can't see we look a better team with Jesus. The pressing from the front allows us to choke teams. Sergio can't just pick and choose when he wants to press, it has to be every time they have the ball without fail. And until he understands that, Jesus is the better selection. He allows the whole team to execute what Pep's mind has designed.

We play better when Jesus plays. I feel more confident when I see Jesus on the team sheet.

Jesus made us twice the team when he came on during Saturday's match. The parity Spurs had found in the second half completely disappeared, Jesus' ability to drop into midfield stopped Dembele's attempts to do a hatchet job on KDB and facilitated him taking over the game - in pretty much every highlight of KDB in the second half, Jesus is involved.

Well said by all. Anyone that doesn’t see why we are a better side with Jesus doesn’t understand how we play in the slightest.

No shite in the response at all really,I'd say that Aguero is arguably the best striker you have seen in a City shirt yea ?

Yes, completely irrelevant to the point nearly everyone is making.

His record, his ability, doesn't give him a free pass to take up a slot on the teamsheet and not follow the tactical instructions that every other player is following. If he doesn't perform he should be subbed or benched like anyone else would. Spurs game a case in point. He had a clear kick up the arse last year and was all the better for it, he needs another one. If he isn't fit enough to do so due to injury then his game time needs to be managed (which is exactly what is currently happening).

The knives are out here, you won't win,he's not upto it no more Aguero if you ask on here, very short memories some, but they will be the ones that shed the most tears when he goes
It’s got sod all to do with memories or sentiment.

It’s just that at present Jesus is better at his role in the high press than Aguero. Aguero was doing it brilliantly until the accident although we’ve all now read he’s nursing a heel injury which may explain it.

Also note that just because people think we look a better team with one player at the minute or any mean the knives are out for the other one. It’s not an either/or in the slightest. Aguero is my hero and I’d have his babies.

What is noticeable is that those alarmed that Aguero may not be the number one striking choice are also much the same posters that lost their shit at Hart departing.
