Sergio Aguero - 2017/18 performances

Unreal performance by Kun. I don't go into match threads anymore but I'm sure it was full of moans up until we re-took the lead.

That fourth goal was incredible. He's hit it right in the direction of the keeper, and has still hit it so perfectly that Schmeichel stood no chance.

28 goals now this season is incredible for it being the tenth of February. Would absolutely love it if he got to 40.

Looking like he could have his best season ever in a City shirt amongst the goals. Get rid I say.

I hate to use it as an example but his 4th was very similar to the Rooney breakout goal vs Arsenal back in 2002.

Really? Kun’s had more power and dip on it and went into the middle of the net. Rooney’s curled into the top corner.

First half was very poor. Not really poorer than most of the team though. He occasionally has these games where nothing comes off for him and everything he's involved in breaks down, which is in fairness no different to any other striker.

Second half was sensational, one of the best striking performances of the season. He scored four totally different goals to show why he's one of the best in the world.

If he plays like that in the League Cup final, Arsenal have no chance at all.

First half was poor i thought too. Movement not good enough and trying to run through brick walls.

2nd half he was great. Like Sergio from 3/4 years ago. Great strike for the 4th.
I absolutely slated him on Twitter at half-time. He was poor, putting a simple ball behind Sterling yet again, when a decent pass would have given him a good scoring chance, running into blind alleys as he uually does and getting dispossessed when he should have buried the ball in the Leicester net, which led to their goal.

So of course he comes out in the second half and has a blinder. Even while he's been scoring recently you still felt he wasn't what he used to be but what was impressive was that certainly the last two goals were vintage Aguero. It's a long time since we've seen him unleash a shot like the one for the last goal.

I believe both he and Silva are somewhat underrated in England. Perhaps I am biased but I would say they belong somewhere in the top 20 players to have played in the premier league.

However, it wouldn’t surprise me if this is our last season with us. He’s 30 this year and the summer may be the perfect time to cash in should a side lodge a substantial bid for his services.

True, but for different reasons.

Silva's in a category of player with Gundogan and Jesus where far too many people don't know exactly what it is they do so if they're not scoring/assisting people don't rate them. Fortunately with Silva he's been around long enough for people to appreciate him and develop a bit of understanding. As I said a while ago in his thread, he'll always be a player that everyone says is underrated but when it comes to award season he's nowhere to be seen.

Aguero's responsible for his own undoing here, considering how wildly erratic he can be with his form at times. The thing with Aguero is his form ranges in the extreme. At his absolute best, I would rank him as our best player (ahead of KDB yes). His game away vs Watford was the best I've seen a City player play this season. But sometimes he can be completely invisible and useless to the extreme. And then other times it's anywhere in between. I digress.

My point is, I think people compare Aguero to the absolute beast of a player he can be sometimes. But he doesn't consistently hit those heights like KDB has this season. So people are always going to hold it against him and underrate him a bit.

I really want him to fly through the rest of this season, blasting home goals and taking him past that lisping prick Kane and win the Golden Boot. If it does turn out to be his last season with us, at least he will be going out on a massive high. Although, I would swap the Golden Boot for him to smash home a winner in the CL Final.

Players like that are called forwards.

Striker that has had the best goal to mins ratio has to be up in top 20s if not 10. As per the recognition part that comes with playing for city in presence of rag media birds
