Sergio Aguero announces his retirement | A thread to pay tribute

Breaking news right now on Sky sports,.. Sergio has officially announced his retirement.

Absolutely heartbreaking watching that - Sergio is my sons first and only hero in football - ever since I first took him as a 3 year old he has been obsessed by watching him. He'd always want to get to the ground early to watch Sergio warm up, sat in his seat on his own while we were having some pre game drinks.
We managed to win a Sergio Signed Shirt in a competition and it sits proudly in his wardrobe on a shelf to itself.

Loved watching this guy for us, absolute legend and just gutted we couldn't win that Champs League trophy for him

As so many have said what Sergio created was the best day of my life. There are some people who would not understand that. But like most fans, my support for Manchester City is a complicated emotional thing. It has never been just about football. Sergio's goal was simply a spiritual experience for me.

I tried to explain to my 'new' missus what I meant. I showed her videos of the QPR match, videos of the Gillingham game, took her to my old house in Merlin Ave and my dads house in Burnage.

She said so this means more than marrying me or your kids birth ?

I said I knew for 18 months or so we were getting married I knew it was happening. I knew for months my kids were due to be born. I had time to be ready.
Up until the ball left Sergio foot I was getting ready to the disappointment of blowing the league. The fact that the rags and their plastic fans around here would take the piss.
Than the most emotional thing happened, I cried like a baby I was completely knackered and drained. I wasnt expecting it !
