Sergio Aguero announces his retirement | A thread to pay tribute

Have a long healthy and happy retirement Sergio.
An absolute legend of a man and footballer

Just in case anyone hasn’t seen it, the documentary Sergio Aguero: Made in Argentina on YouTube is well worth a look.

A truly exceptional player and a nice guy too. Thanks for everything, Sergio.

That's where my thought process is,as I never saw Colin live, but probably not a lot in it deep down, both fantastic
Completely different players and for me that makes it difficult to make a comparison but looking at the Stats it has to be Kun.

I shed a tear with him watching the livestream. Pure sadness, not just for the retirement but also for the people I’ve lost during his time at City, namely my ST holder of 50+ years grandad. Sergio was the last and greatest of the strikers he saw, and in 2012 gave three generations of blues in our family the greatest moment we could ever witness together.

I can’t pay tribute enough to Sergio. What a sad sad day. I hope he finds his happiness, and I’d love to see us bring him back in some capacity.

King Kun

That was a tough watch, so privileged to have seen him play for City for so long.

Most people are asked what was the first game they ever went to as a kid and sometimes it can be sketchy at best?

I took my first born, my son to his first ever City game with my wife for his fourth birthday.

It was an emotional moment for me, something I had done with my dad, as is if life had come full circle.

That game was memorable for so many things, the sheer terror on his face when the crowd around him cheered the first goal going in.

Him hugging me and then laughing.

By the end of the game he was in absolute thrall.

He will always know that Sergio scoring a hat-trick at home to Wigan that day was his first ever game and what a thrill it was.

Sergio has done so much for the people and I will remember him for many things, but he gave me and our family something very special that day, a moment between father and son we can never forget.

Thank you for everything, Sergio.

There is a 14-year-old, 6ft teenager today whose eyes lit up every time he saw you.

Enjoy life, man.
