Sergio Aguero announces his retirement | A thread to pay tribute

It’s funny just how bitter people are. Can’t believe I’m seeing Rooney vs Aguero debates on twitter and when someone points out Kun was clearly a better striker they quickly say Rooney played in midfield, out wide bla bla bla.
The difference was I could understand what one of them was saying, with the other I didn’t have a clue.

It's a sad day. Thank you for so many happy memories - literally the very best memory ever. What a great striker, great professional, team player and footballer. Clearly the best City striker in a lifetime. Very best wishes.

In my opinion, you win football titles and trophies through scoring goals and for his goals Sergio is the greatest player ever to play for City.

No other single individual has made a bigger contribution to the success of our club in its long history!

A privilege and a joy to witness Sergio first hand for 10 years !

Thank you Sergio for some of the best moments of my life !

Wishing you a long and happy retirement!
Sergio, Sergio, Sergio , Sergio......

My wife was/is comfortable in the knowledge that if I ever trapped off with a bloke, it would be Sergio. Just because he's retired, doesn't mean my dream has to come to an end ;)

All the best King Kun, it was an absolute pleasure to watch you don the sky blue for as long as you did <3

Simply the greatest ever thank you for so many great memories over the years Sergio. Also for making me cry on that special day something that will live with me forever and many other City fans. Time for the club to pull it out the bag now and get the north stand named after him.

Just like Pablo, Sergio totally got Manchester and totally got City. After the false start with Robinho, Sergio was the superstar, the elite player we needed at that point of our development. A brilliant signing and a brilliant lad, total respect.
