Sergio Aguero leaves City after 10 years

Cheers for the clarification blue and given your family history I can fully understand your sentiments.

I don't know you well of course outside your posts on this forum but your tragic loss has been a source of inspiration to me having lost one of my own many a year ago.

Its very kind given what you have been through especially if you live in Auckland to even think of anyone in Victoria and I hope your daughter is now confident enough to go about her business mask free.

yes after many back flips from the health authorities especially here in Victoria for the time being we can move about mask free which for me as I suffer from oxygen deficiency and skin rashes is a blessing but many others outside your nation who by and large have done well despite the hard lockdowns are doing it much tougher than us in Victoria.

Despite losing my business due to bureaucratic incompetence I am my loved ones are still here.

I suspect once we get overseas travellers we will go into lockdown for a fourth time but lets hope its short and sharp.

Looks like already Brisbane will be locked down for longer than first indicated ( no surprise due to the fact outside NSW no premier has confidence in their own contact tracing and panics at the first sign of a community case ).

Its still popular for officials in the main to spread fear and no wonder long term occupants of other states including Victoria who can are resettling in NSW.

No coordination between the Federal Government and the States each blaming each other.

the latest cluster in QLD stemmed from a doctor working in a hospital with Covid positive patients who hadn't been vaccinated if you can believe that.

Imagine if countries like the UK had to lock down every time their was a single case in the community with covid.

To date 29k cases in Australia 909 deaths ( would have been less than 100 without the stupidity of the Victorian Government ) over 800 in nursing homes so in real terms a 0.003 death rate to a terrible and yes dangerous disease but given we were locked down for 6 months in Victoria and many more lives many younger lives have been lost due to the response we will look back in the years to come and ask ourselves what were we thinking.

hope you and your family are keeping well blue , lots to look forward to with City with Kun at the helm perhaps in the games to come this season.

Go Crows.
I am really impressed that you remember our tragedy of two years ago, many thanks for that.
I didn't want the signed Sergio shirt to be hidden in either a wardrobe or drawer so I made a frame for it. The shirt is pinned to a black background and the surrounding frame is City blue - I got the local hardware owner to specially match the colour to the shirt. Surrounding the shirt are pictures of Sergio celebrating special goals and of course there is one of our grandson wearing the Sergio No.16 shirt that he was so proud of.
Whereabouts in Melbourne are you. We lived in Doncaster East from 1991 to 2000 before moving back to NZ. Our daughter stayed behind and lives with her family in Pakenham. She occasionally visits the CBD and gets City souvenirs for me. Not as many as my younger sister who lives in Edinburgh but goes to Manchester regularly, and never misses the City Shop. I was the Regional Manager for a software company and Adelaide was part of my territory - it made sense to support the Crows to become accepted by the business community so I could close deals.
We live in Paeroa which is about 120kms from Auckland so have never had to suffer the snap lock downs. We've only worn masks on one occasion when visiting a supermarket during our Level 4 lock down last year. For some strange reason Kiwis seemed to follow the rules about social distancing etc. Unlike the hordes of English people flocking to public spaces now that they can meet in groups of six (thousands!!!!).
Only 26 deaths in NZ - at the moment we are getting confirmed cases every day from people returning from overseas. But everyone has to spend 12 - 14 days in managed quarantine so it is only occasionally that the virus slips into the community.
Our vaccination rollout is pretty slow when compared to other coutries. Those of us over 75 will be eligible from May and as I have two leaky heart valves I may be a priority - but I have had this condition since a kid so I will not be seeking priority, I'll just ask to combine my shot with that of my wife.
We are keeping well thanks and our grandson's father is almost back to his usual bubbly self.
Have a great Easter.

That is great to hear about your grandson's father and long may he cherish the memories of the times he spent with his son as it can tear a loving family apart.

I lost my grandson to brain cancer at 8 years of age but he lives on in his twin sisters heart as they say.

I don't speak about it often but when I heard about your tragic loss and in tragic circumstances so soon after the incident it brought those memories flooding back but in truth you neve forget I think about Thomas every day even though he passed away 10 years ago.

It puts things into perspective and while I enjoy a bit of banter as long as its fairly civil those who may ridicule me for a view I hold should never take life for granted because it can be over in a heartbeat.

its too short to be fussing and fighting and a bit of humour however its expressed is always a breath of fresh air as most of the Woodstock generation like me were bought up on.

I live in Glen Waverley and have done so for much of my life but work has taken me to Manchester and parts of Europe.

I always enjoy reading your posts and despite the harsh lockdowns and fairly small death numbers New Zealand despite its advantages over other countries in that regard is a good outcome.

Our lockdown especially in Victoria was harsh many would say excessive and disproportionate but once it slipped into the community without the contact tracing levels they have in NSW the government believed their was no other option.

It was really sad to see when kompany and silva left but i believe it's another level of sadness to hear about Aguero's departure, firstly because of the wonderful moments and carrier he's had at city and secondly he was the last one from that team which laid the foundation of all the success that followed.

Words can't do justice to his contribution or the joy he brought to city fans.

Thankyou Legend, you were simply amazing

Not having that kompany got us big time married a local girl I was devastated when he left more than any other recent player
