Sergio Aguero to announce his retirement (pg51)

Such a sad way for his career to end.

By all accounts it sounds like he wanted to stay at City and unfortunately his last game for us was the Champions League final. He moves to Barcelona to play with his best mate who then has to leave the club.

However, all of that pales in comparison when you think of what could've happened if his heart problems weren't detected when they were. The most important thing is his health and enjoying the rest of his life.

Hopefully we can give him a testimonial at some point in the near future and bring back all the greats like Zabba, Vinny, Yaya and Merlin etc.

We had ten glourious years from Sergio and he gave most of us the best moment of our City supporting lives. An English football legend and more importantly a true City legend.

Although his last game was the CL final he only played a bit part in that. His last proper game for us was in the 5-0 win against Everton when he scored two to break the one club scoring record and was the last match of the Premier League season after which we got presented the trophy. That will be my final memory of him as a City player.
Champions League? Forget it.

Very sad to hear about his retirement. Wish him all the best.

Legend of the game and forever grateful

Thank you Sergio

This is a proper post

To be fair to the club, given Sergio’s recent injury record, he was never going to be offered another contract on those sort of terms.
Unfortunately there’s no sentiment in football. It is what it is.
