Champions?

left side is too weak.............
aguero isnt a target man and needs to play behind or alongside one.
Isnt Silva left footed?
Yaya & Nasri are very different and wouldn't complimant each other.
Don't rate Lavezzi.

In fact, this team doesn't look right at all.......................

Silva played most of last season on the right side of a 433, tevez isn't a target man but still played the centre of the 433, so I'd say keep exactly the same team but swap yaya and nasri around

good post matey other than I cannot see Aguero, Nasri and Mata all being signed - too much money and could not all be fitted into the team, in my opinion
I know we can't fit them all in at the same time, but we need a quality squad if we're to compete on four fronts next season. We need to get rid of the dross (up to eleven if rumours are true) before the season starts, so I think if anything we might be light squad-wise.

Mancini stated that he wanted 2 world class players for every position and a bank of top-class youngsters in reserve in order for us to compete effectively. If we sell Tevez £50m, get Aguero £40, Get Nasri £20m & Mata £22m that's a net outlay of £32m add to this £7m for Clichy & £6m for Savic that's a net spend of £45m for the season (less than ManUre) and that doesn't include what we'll get for the likes of Given, Ade, Bridge, Bellamy, Onuoha, SWP etc.

You seriously think Tevez will go for 50 mil? I think other clubs will use his high wages to demand a lower price, now that the whole world knows we don't need him anymore.

I think it's more than achievable TBH..

Can someone post this through Bobby's letter box?

Mario can play either the role that Dzeko is in or the one Aguero is in, it's a squad game. I think Savic will have to be blood in, he's only 20 and in a new league after all. Pus Lescott was great towards the end of last season and it would be unfair to take him straight out of the first 11.

-- Thu Jul 07, 2011 12:47 pm --

Ivan Zazzaroni, an italian journalist close to Mancini has dismissed our interest for Lavezzi, claiming that he had a conversation with Mancini and that our real target is Aguero.

Let's hope he's not telling porkies then! Aguero is miles upon miles better than Lavezzi.

Following up the earlier debate as to what Graham Hunter did or did not say on Sky Sports re City and Aguero, it is worth seeing a full quote:

"Manchester City will make a 'five-star' signing if they can prise Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid's grasp", says Graham Hunter.

Revista de la Liga pundit Hunter told Sky Sports News that 23-year-old Aguero is well-suited to Premier League football and would slot in perfectly if City skipper Carlos Tevez gets his wish and leaves England.

"My view is that Manchester City would do exceptional business and given that he is available - because he has come out and said 'I formerly request a transfer, I want to go to a big club and win things'," said Hunter.

"They have the money to sign him, he is an exceptional talent; I personally think that in large parts of the UK he is undervalued. He has [Lionel] Messi-like skills, he has an enormously strong physique which he has worked on very hard which will make adaptation to the Premier League much more achievable.

"He is also a very placid, loyal character; he has stayed at Atletico Madrid, I think, long after he should have done and therefore if Manchester City can lever him out of Atletico Madrid I think it would be business of exceptional, five-star class."

Unfortunately he thinks that Real Madrid might still sign Aguero, despite the reluctance of Atletico to sell him to them.

He also said something very interesting about Tevez: don't rule out a shock move to Malaga.

"If Tevez is telling the truth and all he wants to do is leave England and get somewhere where his family can come to, who knows if Malaga might be the shock for everybody?"
