Not that easy for players on long contracts to just get up at leave even if we fail to reach top 4 which is a real possibility this season.

If Real or Barca come a calling maybe , Bayern , Monaco and PSG as well presently are the only other sides with the money to afford his wages and transfer fee that he would entertain.

If we want to keep him the best way to do so is talk to his current beau and give her a big incentive to ensure she doesn't want to live on the continent at all.

There is no way upon this good earth that we wont be in the top 4 by the end of the season, what the hell has gotten into people on here at the moment it's getting ridiculous the amount of doom and misery

Its only an opinion Ducado,

I am not saying its done and dusted we will not and I have found any mooner yet that has said its a given we won't but in my case all things weighed up we have to look at the possibility and a realistic one of that in my view that we could finish outside the top four this year.

I completely agree mate. Top 4 is not a forgone conclusion by any means.

Last 3 seasons we have got into the top 4 due to two factors. The first is our standard of play and the number of points we picked up. The second is that some of our competitors imploded and lost the plot at some stage during the season.

Clearly only the first part of the above equation is under our control, and so far we are making a right fuck up of it. But let's assume we put that right and start to play home and away at something like the level we sustained in our title winning season. We are then still hoping/expecting/relying on two out of Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs falling away. This season, for the first time in a long time, that might just not happen. If it doesn't 4th spot could be right old scrap. Let's hope we are fighting it out for 1st, not 4th!

I strongly suspect this is more negative spin emanating from Barcelona. It's entirely possible the two will play alongside each other at club level but I'd say it will be Messi more likely to come here than Sergio to go there.
You seem confident Sergio will stay p.b
Just my opinion but I think one more season tops
Although I wouldn't be suprised if he did leave next summer

It's a tough one for him as he will not want to harm his image & love for the club if he does move on,he will want it to be on good terms

Oh and I hope to god I'm wrong & he's here for another 4 or 5 seasons.

Sergio is to my mind currently one the top three strikers in the world but he's not at his most effective as a lone front man. Playing Negredo or Dzeko alongside him is is proving difficult in Pellegrini's system against sides who outnumber or outplay us midfield.

While I'm not blind to the counter-attractions in Spain, I do believe Sergio's still got plenty to play for with us. Like regaining the Premier title, winning another cup or two and mounting a serious challenge on the Champs League.

Three or four years of interesting work there.

Maybe I'm being unduly optimistic. Hopefully not.

Just to refute all this BS about Aguero wanting to leave City and go to Barcelona.
From an interviewin Saint Louis by an Argentinian paper today:

-Are you happy in England?

-Yes. I'm really very happy. The club treats me very well. One can live quietly, it's different from living in Spain or Argentina. The only thing I do is enjoy playing football, rest, be at home and then go for a walk or eat in peace. For a player or for anyone that is known, it¡s good not to be in a crazy surrounding, because when you have to play it's important to keep your mind clear.

-What have your stays in Spain and England added to your game?

-I always say that from all games, playing or watching them, you can learn things. It's like any other job, you know what to do and what not to do. The same happens in the pitch, one has to think where it's better to attack, where you feel more comfortable near the box and where you can make the CB uncomfortable. One just adapts. English football, being so quick, allows you to improve your concentration and your skills. That's why you learn things every day and I feel I have still much to learn.

I never doubted he was happy here
