A bargain at €6m goes a-beggin' with virtually no risk involved.
No matter. We must accept that any Spanish based talent emerging in La Liga are going to be more attracted to staying in Spain, especially when someone from Real or Barça comes a-knockin' on your door.
What is of more concern is that any talent in the London area (e.g. Victor Moses) is more likely to be tempted to a move to somewhere like Arsenal, especially if they like life in the capital. (Ref our £2m bid to Palace being declined - Mail 22/1/10)
Thankfully for us, Mancini's achievements & reputation ensures we are still well placed for the vast majority of our targets. That in itself is a reason to be cheerful.
