Sergio Ramos

-current red card record holder in real madrid
-pushing the club president and the media to get mourinho fired

Please, don't touch him.

Quite simply smacks of players agent using City's name to secure his client a higher salary at his existing club. Plus it's in the People, therefore ignore.

Agreed. I also agree with the concensus in this thread that we need another world class CB

According to the press, he is willing to leave Real Madrid for bigger salary.

I don't know how much they are offering him, but I will not pay him single pound more than Kompany.

Let's pass on Ramos - he's prone to the odd red card and he'll be expensive..... best stick with Garcia and Boyata then.

Has anyone not thought we may need a dirty bastard or two in the side, one who surrounds referees and is also very shrewd? We're pushovers on the gamesmanship side and clubs have frequently exploited that, and most of our players looked happy to shrug when Garcia's leg was almost snapped against Sunderland... Ramos would have been in the referee's face demanding action.

Also, players in Spain get roughly 3x more red and yellow cards than in England, so his horrendous disciplinary record shouldn't be quite as off-putting as it seems.

It's all probably bollocks anyway, but I'd have him. But it's from the same paper that brought us this... <a class="postlink" href="http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-city-agree-record-54m-1897648" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... 4m-1897648</a>

It doesn't really work having a foreigner yelling at referees though, they'd just get booked. Everyone knows that only English players are allowed to bully refs

Not for me.
We seem to pick up yellow cards very easily from refs in a lot of games, often for nothing tackles and Mario was due a yellow per game just because of his reputation and nothing will change. He will be booked and sent off even if it did not warrant it just because of his reputation and the ease refs seem to have with issuing yellows to us. I don't see any other team who has 70% possession get 2-3 times more yellows than the opposition
