Sergio Ramos

Would have him here in a heartbeat. I really wanted Pepe too. Both questionable bastards that hate loosing. Anything that gives us a bit more bollocks in the side would be more than welcome. Ramos would happily spend 90 minutes shouting at everyone and everything to make sure the defence acts like a defence, and, unless our medical department manages to break him, the guy consistently averages a high number of appearances a season.

Sergio Ramos 27.

Loads of caps for Spain, Euro winner, world cup winner. Strong, mean, a good passer and a leader. Been there, seen it and bought the T shirt.

Leighton Baines 28.

Handful of caps for his country. No champions league experience. Ball watches and nearly always out of position. He does take a mean free kick.

City's leading fans forum decides in favour of the dodgy left back.

Words really do fail me.

This.

Dude is a class defender and has some edge to him. Exactly what we need. For those of you claiming he gets red carded too much, keep in mind you only have to breathe on an offensive player in Spain to get booked.

I second that.
I can see how one would hate playing against a side with Ramos in it... but with him on our side I'm sure most of us would very quickly salute him. He really is a top defender, one of the best around.
But isn't he pretty much a right sided centre back? Are we loosing faith in Kompany's ability to stay fit for a longer period of time?

A lot of these guys are players that you'd love to have on your team, but if they played on another team youd wish death upon them.

At this point with Kompany, as much as it pains me to say it, may just be injury prone. The team is a business, and if your investment(player) isnt working out(playing) you have to be able to replace it.

But if Vincent gets fit, maybe he can play on the left side...

Ramos has only been sent off once per season in the league for each of the last three seasons, and it's not like Kompany is immune to picking up costly red cards is it?

If there is any chance at all of signing Ramos we should fully pursue it. He's matured into an exceptional centre-back (and is still probably better at right-back than anyone else in our squad).

Not a cat in hells chance he'd sign for us.

Or Yaya, Aguero, Silva etc.......

Kun was playing at Atletico, Silva at Valencia and Yaya was surplus to requirements at Barca. Ramos is first choice at Madrid. World of dfference. No chance unless he has a fallng out with the manager.

ikkle ciddyitis strikes again!

If we were to get Ramos - some on here would claim Richards should be picked ahead of him. I concur that Ramos is a complete **** but he's be our **** and he is just what we need. It would be the cultural shift that Andy Morrison brought with him all those years ago - stop being so nice City and start to win at any cost.

Not at all smart arse. I was just pointng out that Silva, Kun and Yaya all needed to move on to better themselves. That is not the case for Ramos. He already plays at the biggest club in world football, plays regularly, and that is not ikkle ciddyitis mate that is just common sense.
