Serial Killer at large in Manchester?

He may not have been near the canal when he started screaming down the phone as he was walking along the main road looking for a taxi, then went down a side street so the phone call could have been anywhere along the route to the canal.

GMP's finest couldn't solve the mystery and unless someone comes forward with more evidence in the three cases showed last night then there's little chance we can on Bluemoon but it is intriguing all the same.

Should we let GMP know about the poster planning a trip to Venice? Maybe the nudger is thinking of expanding his patch?

Don't worry bluegirl, GMP Murder Squad are all sat with their feet up instead of investigating these deaths

"Don't worry everyone, the Bluemoon CID have got this one in hand"

Terrible CCTV images, why are they still using them? Surely upgrades are available. Personally feel that a lot of these men ended up in the canal as a direct result of criminal activity however I don't think it's a serial killer and the pusher is just a myth. Canals attract a lot of unsavory characters at night, there's probably a dozen offenders.

don't say anything to the Manitowoc police they may use in evidence of steven avery case

85 in 6 years with no CCTV, no witnesses and no survivors that have ever come forward - that's an incredible coincidence considering the amount of businesses with cameras and people dotted about around the canals. Maybe some have just accidentally fallen in, maybe some have been botched robberies but the circumstances in some of the cases seem very suspicious. Something is being hidden and covered up but god knows why.

When I heard the name of Pusher as the serial killer , I knew I'd heard that name before then it dawned on me. Maybe it's this guy whose come over here. Anyone remember him from the X-Files.

I thought he was Jack The Dipper?

Funny that last season I was over and took in the Hull home game in and walked on my todd from town to the ground via the canal..... each time I passed someone going the opposite way I made sure I was on the left hand side and away from the water.... ha ha

If nothing untoward is happening, then why were 72 of the 80-odd bodies men? Seems like too crazy a ratio for it to be drunk people falling, especially considering drunk women in their 400ft heels are the main fallers on nights out. Doesn't add up to me that...

if there is a 'pusher' surely someone would have lived to tell the story...i mean...your falling into a canal not off a block of flats..you don't automatically die......

The ratio may be simply down to the fact that more men are likely to walk canal side than women, whether it be a bravado thing or just that men imagine themselves to be more invincible after a few drinks ..... far fewer women would take that risk.

does anyone have the stats on how many deaths there were in the previous 6 years prior to the 85???

I think it's more than one person, one on each side to stop them getting out
Serial killers in pairs... I'd imagine that's fairly rare? I know it does happen but I can't see that being the case here.
Maybe a guy went down the cruising spot for some fun with Mr A N Yone.. His wife/Mrs found out about it. Majorly kicked off, booted him out. Next salute he's full of remorse, sat in his old bedroom at his mams or in a shitty little flat. The remorse turn to resentment... To anger. But, he don't direct the anger at himself... He takes it out on other lone men up and down the waterways. They're the c**ts responsible for the situation hes now in? Our man now has a lot of time on his hands now he's lost his Mrs, maybe children involved so he's gone from busy homelife to.. No life.. So he has time to wait, watch etc. Seen in that Ch4 programme other night that dibble approached a guy who was waiting about under the bridge smoking a cig.. Anyone could be down there.

Some years back I did nights, security on ancoats retail park and I tell you what, that canal path was/is busy 24/7. There is cameras overlooking the canal and aside from men having fun together you would see people walking up and down, probably just cruising (or spectating like @CTID1988 chum with the big bag of crisps was) but also there was also scallies on bikes in 1's and 2's, definitely up to no good but never saw nowt so, couldn't do nowt or, phone it in. So yeah, muggings down there are nothing new. A common "trick" is to distract the victim and rifle his pockets. Caught with his trousers down, so to speak... So, guys who go down there know not to carry money etc.

I've had an hanging thought whilst typing this out. Back to @BlueNirvana saying there may be more than one person doing the pushing. What if, and I know this sounds terrible, there's a couple of sickos targeting lone walkers and attacking them sexually then throwing them in the water? People have asked why hasn't anyone swam out, Factor in not just the shock and ice cold waters but also if you have just been raped? Police have returned open verdicts on over 20 deaths.

Just a couple of half arsed theories off the top of my head and I've been up since 2 am so please be gentle if you decide to dissect it!
