For anyone interested in the fortunes of CFG side Palermo, then they made the convoluted playoffs in Serie B (finished 6th on 56 pts, up from 9th on 49 pts in 22-23). Palermo will now host Sampdoria (finished 7th) on Friday evening in a one-off game to see who proceeds. Game can go to extra time but a draw would see Palermo go forward as the higher placed side. Could be tricky as Sampdoria finished the season in better form, but the experience alone should stand Palermo in good stead. Chance also to see how Claudio Gomes is doing.

Atalanta were cruising against Roma 2-0. Roma pulled a goal back through a penalty. Currently in extra time with Atalanta missing a hatful of chances.
