Serious assault on an elderly Blue

While we don't know all the facts, I can say that if one of our supporters has assaulted somebody outside your stadium, that is a poor reflection on that individual and I hope he is brought to law, but all clubs have supporters like this.

I will concede that we are 'one of those clubs' with a particularly rambunctious fan base.
Well thx for the sentiments anyway. I was a near miss too although strangely at my advanced years i didnt panic and just kinda leaned in with my shoulder to the passing mob and apart from shouting nothing really happened. Not great though for people on pensions dealing with this on a day out.
Trying to be fair I suppose its not really your fault if you are the team of choice for delinquents across Yorkshire which i think is the case.. I was once at a city pre season game at Scarborough and there were even Leeds fans there stirring it up.

You'd hope with fans like this, that their own fans would serve out some 'justice' for sucker punching an old man.
If that'd been the other way round and a City fan had sucker punched an old man, I'd hope City fans would give him a good kicking.
Now I'm kinda hoping Leeds stay up, that way there's a chance this **** might turn up at the Etihad again.
Save that picture just in case ; )

They won’t. He’s clearly part of the gobshite cowardly fake MiB supporter contingent and those will put him on a pedestal and hail him as an example of how they should behave.

Great example of how language can obfuscate all manner of sin.

Sorry to hear about this. All seemed friendly outside from what I saw and I was outside with the kids from 1 ish.

My thoughts exactly, let’s set a baying mob of inbreds free into City fans of a certain age, no wonder a couple of old fellas have copped for a few this season, fucking cowards, and the policing is no better. Who do they expect to be around at that stage ? The place is full of old school City & families making their way home after clapping their team off, can see a return to the days of mobs waiting about for away fans & picking them off and if the police don’t get their act together

That's the problem. If the police don't sort it the fans take it on themselves to do it. There was plenty around yesterday but a lot sat inside vans. They were quick to run over and arrest a few but by then someone has been attacked.

Aaron Cawley was cheered for attacking Chris Kirkland.

With prosecution, it all depends on evidence, counsel and even which judge they’re up in front of. When I ushered and clerked, you knew which people were seasoned cunts and which were victims themselves.

You’re right. We need to stick together and look out for other blues because the rags are like Leeds. No rules on who they go for!
Back in the 80s my much younger brother was going back into town from Warwick Rd station following a Derby at OT. My brother and his two mates were sussed by some cockney rags who tried to start on them. Some handy manc reds intervened twatted the cockneys and said we don't do kids mob handed and told the cockneys to fuck off. In those days there were rags with honour not sure it would happen now.

And sometimes both, which is likely the sad truth for this cowardly ****, based on the reports of his dad instigating things himself.

Dude, there were father and son combos in three pubs I drank in in East London. I’m a huge West Ham admirer but there’s some utter scum following them.

As I said, I once had a Leeds fan threaten me on a train in front of his teenage daughter. She was all “Dad… leave him.” My mum worked social services so we both knew awful families.

It is incredibly sad. Wouldn’t be surprised at all of this cowardly **** that sucker punched the elderly blue didn’t feel like he needed to do it so his horrible **** of a father wouldn’t be disappointed (or worse) with him after years and years of conditioning to believe violence like that in the face of potentially being “disrespected” was the proper way to handle conflict.

I haven’t spoken to my father in 15 years and have no plans to do so ever again after more than 20 years of physical (and when I was too big and strong for that to be an option, psychological abuse) and I know first hand how the desperation to gain affection or respect from your father can influence you to act irrationally (or dangerously).

This is an unfortunate history that I grapple with every day as I try to raise my near 2 year-old son now, with the little time I have left to do so. Nearly every decision I make is at least partially about doing the exact opposite of what my father would do in that situation.

I have no sympathy for him having done what he has, but I also feel for him having been brought up to be this way.

It is very rare (mostly only when a child is born with truly sociopathic tendencies) that an adult is like this absent trauma from their upbringing.

Hence why I say they can be both the horrible **** and a victim at the same time.

If anything, based on reports, his dad probably deserves the full force of punishment, whilst this lad desperately need diversionary action and rehabilitation.

My dad was little more than wanting to be one of the boys. He shouldn’t have married nor should he have had kids. He died when I was 13 but I think I’d have shut him out by now. I’d stopped wanting to see him by the time I was 11. I just knew.

Posted about this in different thread. Two groups of about a dozen each, all appeared to be pissed and very gobby, walking round the ground giving it large. As I entered the ground big roar goes up from the fans on the spiral. Spoke to a guy who said one blue sparked out two of them. One guy in black could barely stand up. Not even sure why they were walking towards City Square as most away fans are stopped at the entrance and diverted round ANR.
I saw a group of about 12-15 of them spit on Vincent Kompany statue. They were fairly young lads, perhaps 18 to 20 kind of age group. They were singing “we are Leeds” and trying to act as tough and hard as possible, but they were obviously intimidating some family groups and women. When I saw one spit on the statue I was absolutely furious. I was on my own, and am no tough guy, b
ut I made a point of walking through the middle of them and shouting at two individuals within the group to shut the fuck up. They completely shit themselves and all scuttled off. Made me feel like a bit of a hard case . They were clearly just giving it out and had no bottle whatsoever as when I challenged them, they scuttled off. Fuckin shitbags.

Well scuttled .

Scuttlers were members of neighbourhood-based youth gangs (known as scuttling gangs) formed in working class areas of Manchester, Salford, and the surrounding townships during the late 19th century.
They're pinching our history. What next?
Indeed our club was formed in the late 19th century to try to give the local youths and scuttlers an alternative to channel their energy and aggression into, instead of scrapping with other gangs of local youths.
One of the most feared and notorious scuttling gangs were known as The Bengal Tigers, because they came from Bengal Street in Ancoats.
Which ironically is less than a mile from The Etihad Stadium.

Does anyone know what happened before the game near gate Y1 ??

Loads of police seems like two small groups separated one guy had two nasty looking cuts on his forehead...
