For whatever reason, Mancini continues to shackle YaYa by not allowing him to roam forward. He is most dangerous when moving forward and linking up with the forwards or putting himself in scoring position. City is currently playing with an ineffective midfield which means all our outstanding forwards don't get the ball enough.

Would love to see YaYa and David Silva as attacking midfielders with Barry/Zabo as defensive midfielder.

Comments anyone?

Well today he couldnt as we had only Evans on the bench as midfielder.

When Garcia, Rodwell, Milner all missing at the same time Yaya has to sit deep because Barry is way to slow alone for anything.

But if Garcia can can used to the way we play and the league I hope it will be Barry+Garcia and Yaya pushed forward.

Something like this:

.....Garcia-Barry
Silva--Yaya---Tevez
------Striker

So true DON'T play him in midfield for god sake play him as 1 of the two further forward players with NO responsibility of getting back because its the only thing he isn't good at

Don't really fancy Barry being the only midfielder covering the defence. We'd get torn apart.

Besides Yaya is most effective when he plays a more defensive role and picks his times to get forward.

Fuck me, what?

He is far better pushed up, a dog can see that!

I actually think the game can pass him bye when he plays further forward. He's at his best deeper and surging forward, or moving into spaces in an advanced position from his deeper position when it's hard for the opposition to pick him up.

When he starts further forward he often just stands still, static, waitin for others to do something. He's better when he's the one moving from deep, forward - the one doing something.

Arteta is a defensive midfielder who starts deep and makes a lot of forward runs. He's in the box a fair bit. Yesterday Yaya got in the box maybe twice.

But yes, staying deep and never getting forward is a waste of his talent.
