Settle an argument - Is Hughes doing a crap job or not?

no, stick with hughes! it will come good lol! stop sacking managers and buy some players!

and we keep buying players until we get it right thats really gonna give us a settled site gavanised to climb the table

of course it is, better players + bad results - crap players = rise in the table.

don't you know your math, obviously not peasant

Still to come at home - Boro, Newcastle, Villa, Sunderland, Bolton, all of who we beat last season. Plus Blackburn and WBA, which should be winnable and Fulham and Wigan. If we get 22 points out of that lot then we will have the same number of points (37) from home games as we had last season.

As the saying goes is it ain't broken don't fix it??

But it WAS broke. It's been broken for years!

But now it can't be done like that. It has to be with quality signings, balance and grit and application.

There have been many teams that have been successful where it isn't necessarily the superstar signings that make the difference. I remember Carragher in the Chumps Final....that bloke was immense.

We had the makings of a good side before hughes came and with some additions should have become better (in theory). In fact we have got considetably worse than last season despits improvements but don't blame the manager its the tea ladies fault she's buying PG instead of tetley. Hughes is a football genius all hail to the king hughes

Sorry Ducado, 3 wins on the trot won't settle the argument for me. I've spent well over 20 Grand on City following home and away since 1976 to hope to see them win something other than one old second division title and a play-off cup. If Hughes was a serious manager he would have realised that 7/8 games would have seen us win the League Cup and 6 to win the FA Cup minimum but no, we fall at the first hurdle and all he can say is the squad's not big enough. Shit it's bigger than Pompeys or Cardiffs and they went all the way last year. He might have 21 years to emulate baconface at the Scum but I might not have that much time left. As far as I'm concerned he's a failed manager with a second rate backroom team. On top of that whether it's his squad or not it's still a multi-million pound squad that should be pitching for a Uefa Cup berth not hovering above the relegation zone and in disarray. I've already all but written this season off now apart from praying we can get to Istanbul (unlikely, but we're still in with a shout). I want a winner as a manager asap. Hughes is not a winner at managerial level and after the way this season has gone so far, I'm not prepared to give him longer than this year. No European place, Hughes can fook off somewhere else. That's the minimum I expect from City this year. Bad appointment and poor manager who blames his tools. Stop moaning and excusing yourself all the time and do the job you're paid handsomely for ffs.

Agreed results haven't gone our way but Hughes will get it right, we have all known that Dunne was in continual decline, Richards hadn't kicked on, Hamman past it, Fernandes keen but average, nobody able to defend on the left. Not one of our strikers ever looking capable of getting into double figures. Elano a flash in the pan, then he has had to do without the services of Petrov and Johnson two of our better performers last season, non of that can be blamed on Hughes. So lets just get off his back and give him some time.
