go on then, wheres your 100m that he's spent?

According to ssn at the beginning of the season they had city as the top spenders and down as spending around 84 million add on the 12 million for Bridge and thats nearly £100,000,000.

Just found this and and it's not that bad to tell you the truth he has got rid of a lot of crap out of the club and bought class players there is still a lot of shifting around to do and things i believe will be better when Hughes has finished building his own team.

Im not sure about Hughes yet, he's only been in the job 6 months or so. Lets see where we are at the end of Feb. Im confident things will get a lot lot better and we can still make the top 8. The performance and result in Schalke was outstanding, against a decent German team. If he can bring in 3 or 4 decent players in the window im sure we will do well for the rest of the season. Then in the summer things will get even better.

Jo up to 19m
Rob 32m
Bridge 12m

88m

hughes didnt sign jo, and dont think it was his choice with robinho, so really take away 51 million.
37 million spent, and if you count robinho then 59million, no where near 100,000,000 either way.

We have to give him time. Remember the players that are not performing are Sven's players, Elano, etc.
Jo was a Sven signing Hughes just said yes to it.

Hughes signings:
TBH 5m
SWP 8.5m
Kompany 6m
Zabeleta 6.5m

Arab signing:
Robinho 32.5m

So all in all the players that have been the better ones are the Hughes signings.
He needs time, that is our problem we haven't stuck by one manager. Look at MON at Villa he spent a bucket load first season and came 12th, 13th or 14th. Then the season after he came 6th.
Moyes- First 2 seasons didnt do that well, season after came 4th. Look at Everton now, they're flying.

We need to stick by a manager because we haven't had one for more than 3 seasons lately. Sometimes our fans aren't very patient and that is how Hughes will be sacked.

i have been right behind him but i'm finding it more & more difficult to stick up for him against very good arguements. You have to say that looking at the league position & going out of both cup's at the first hurdle say's he's doing crap, but some of the player's have been absolutely rubbish. I wonder how bad thing's are when it gets to the point of such a inept performance as the Forest game, there's something desperately wrong somewhere when it get's that bad, personally i think he need's a very good second half of the season to turn it around. minimum requirement for me is top 10 finish and uefa cup quarter final or he's got to go.

Early days yet, but I have been far from impressed with what I have seen.

Who knows maybe the posters who wanted him sacked weeks ago were right.

In my opinion we have no choice but to persevere and hope things get better (like now)

.

Id say hes been doing a so so job. Definite room for improvement.

City is the fooking poison chalice of managers jobs so it seems, to take the club from a 'staying up will do' approach to a 'challenging for honours' approach is going to take a herculean effort for someone. The fella is trying I'll give him that, but hes got a LONG way to go.

The problem is with the anti Hughes brigade on here and other forums is, they are not consistent, when we win, they melt away like the snow in spring, in fact there are some who never even bother logging on.

I do agree up to now he has not been brilliant, but there deeper issues with the club, some that go back many years, add to that injuries to key players

Lets give it the next 4 games and see how he does with some new signings

The proof is in the pudding really this game os based upon results not how many times you can pull the wool over peoples eyes http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/table/default.stm

15th in the league 2 points of bottom 3 and points off rock bottom. Having finished 10th last season and added a further £90m talent, we've gone considerably backward. But Hughes is doing a fine job.We just need more players more time and a season in the championship before we can truly turn the corner.

sack him now have you seen his signings kompany, swp, robinho. zab. he aint got a clue has he ;-(

A manager doesn't keep his job on the back of the players he's signed and how about all those players he's f**ked off with his attitude

dunne, richards, elano,jo, ball, hamman and ben haim
