Experienced at centre-back but has played at right-back a third as many times as Stones, and left-back literally 3 times.

Not saying Pep won't do it.

We've got a choice between two risks -

Play an experienced player in a position he's rarely played, on his debut.

Play a young player who has a little experience with the team, in his primary position.

Personally I prefer the second option. I do get why some may prefer the first.
We’ve not really been playing with a conventional right back this season, Cancelo plays pushed up on the left wing and we’ve effectively had a back 3 with Kyle as right hand side centre back or moving into midfield. Akanji will be able to fill that role easily.

Ederson
Cancelo
Akanji
Dias
Gomez
Rodri
De Bruyne
Gundogan
Foden
Haaland
Mahrez

Changes after 60 minutes - Grealish, Alvarez, Phillips, Palmer, Lewis for Haaland, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Rodri and Cancelo. Play Phillips, Foden and Grealish as an all-English midfield three. Palmer out wide, Alvarez through the middle and enjoy.

We should beat Sevilla comfortably and Spurs is the real test. We need to rest Rodri as much as we can and Gundogan/Bernie need to be managed as well. Haaland can play 90 minutes, he'll be fine as he barely touches the ball anyway. Get Alvarez on with him possibly.
