Sevilla (N) | UEFA Super Cup | Post-Match Thread

We had a higher than average number of shots.

Kova played a great through ball for Erling. Scored his pen; didn’t Gundo miss the last one he took for City?
agree on all of that...but dont you see that we are lacking lots of creativity???.....one isolated pass (though a decent one) doesnt make up for what we are missing.....you could look at the chances Kovacic missed (one cross and then the pullback to him just inside the area in the second half) but its not about him - He has a lot of very good qualities and some Gundo didnt have...what Im saying is that Pep is going to have to develop more creativity and goals are going to have to come from somewhere else....(and again its not a crticism of Kovacic as I think he is a very good player - maybe Pep can bring more out of his game as he has never been a creative player or a goal scorer in his career?)

The pairing of him and Rodri does however mean at this point we are lacking creatvity centrally in the pitch.

We won yay!
Having said that, this midfield worries me in the absence of Kevin. There's no creativity.

Mildly disappointed not to have been there but currently somewhere else quite warm.

Performance was far from perfect but largely dominant. They made it difficult by denying space in the final third and managed a few dangerous breaks.

Good to win another trophy we’ve never won before.

Hope the lads recover well for Saturday and Bernie, Stones and Dias can start.

Time for Txiki to do his stuff.

Just got back to our apt, metro was a doddle. Fans were superb, loud and proud dunno how it sounded on telly. Few tourists there but mostly hard core blues, of course it's a good trophy to win, especially for those of us that went, would've took the shine off the holiday otherwise.
Stadium was fucking roasting which must have affected the players. We were supplied with free water which was nice.
Agree with every word, we have loved Athens, this was the cherry on the cake, the atmosphere was superb, even though at times I felt like fainting it was so hot, I wondered what the atmosphere would be like but I think it was when Harland and a few others came out for the warm it really took off,a great City, a great result, a great trip, finish it off with a visit to the Parthenon and acropolis museum tomorrow and a meal in a stunning Plaka restaurant then back home on Friday for the match Saturday night, if Carling did weeks!

I think you will fins you have underestimated what Kovacic can do creatively. I also expect he will score more goals on average than he has done at other clubs.

We do need to add some creativity but if we average 23 goal attempts per game we will score masses of goals. We won’t average that many but it wasn’t our biggest problem tonight.

how many of those attempts came from Haaland I wonder
How many from set pieces?

Im talking about open play for a starters......23 goal attempts doesnt translate to creativity necessarily
