Sevilla (N) | UEFA Super Cup | Post-Match Thread

I didnt watch the game as I had some family things going on, but i am happy with the result, and it seems to be fairly divided on whether we played well or not, but i dont really care. Winning a pot, winning on pens, all good. Let's just all be happy we're so bloody successful these days!!
The non-partisan appraisal of our performance is this... we were off the pace and didn't get going despite controlling possession. Sevilla's set-up to counter-attack and play deep made the game difficult for us.

We deserved the trophy, but it was far from City at our best.

Depends what sort of personality you are I suppose.

I think being the fourth[for major trophies] and fifth[for all trophies] most successful club in the country, and ever catching those above us up (only four behind Arsenal for major trophies now), is brilliant.
Well OK, but we're not going to be chanting it at the Swamp and Anfield, are we? Or putting it in the "annoy rag fans with these stats" thread.

I don't care we weren't at our free flowing best, nor were we in the champions League final. The only thing that matters is we won both games and the trophies. How many times have we absolutely ran teams ragged only to lose? Nobody remembers great performances from losers they only remember the winners.

Early doors in the season. Fans looking for perfection aren't getting it yet. We're still building up fitness and have lost three big players in Gundo, Mahrez and Kev. Add to that last night Bernardo, Stones and Dias and that's half of our best eleven. Fans criticising need to lighten up and put it into perspective. We've won the two biggest trophies in European football in the last three months, fucking enjoy.

Yep early season and you listen to some Chelsea support they think they'll be challenging us and Arsenal for the league! One game!
